Rudy Fernandez has agreed to extend his contract with his current European team, DKV Joventut, for one more season. In exchange, DKV Joventut has agreed to reduce his buy-out clause to NBA teams to less than half the current $1.7 MIL value. The agreement would leave his buy-out amount as is for other Euro teams. This appears to end any chance of Barcelona signing Rudy Fernandez to a long term deal with a huge buyout clause attached to the deal. The terms of this extension makes it fairly easy for Fernandez to join the Blazers for the '08-'09 season. The Blazers will recieve the rights to Fernandez, the #24 pick in the '07 draft, on the back end of the Zach Randolph trade. That part of the trade is with the Suns. It has yet to be processed by the league office. The Blazers will also recieve James Jones from the Suns in that deal.
