Rudy Fernandez arranges to easily join Blazers in '08-09′

Rudy Fernandez has agreed to extend his contract with his current European team, DKV Joventut, for one more season. In exchange, DKV Joventut has agreed to reduce his buy-out clause to NBA teams to less than half the current $1.7 MIL value. The agreement would leave his buy-out amount as is for other Euro teams. This appears to end any chance of Barcelona signing Rudy Fernandez to a long term deal with a huge buyout clause attached to the deal. The terms of this extension makes it fairly easy for Fernandez to join the Blazers for the '08-'09 season. The Blazers will recieve the rights to Fernandez, the #24 pick in the '07 draft, on the back end of the Zach Randolph trade. That part of the trade is with the Suns.
