Boston Celtics president of basketball of operations Danny Ainge isn’t willing to trade Rajon Rondo, but he is willing to move several veteran players. According to the Boston Herald, Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallace are available. “We’ve written here before that despite the lack of interest in trading Rondo — unless they get the proverbial offer they can’t refuse — the Celtics are still active in the market. Sources continue to say they’d love to move some veteran contracts (think Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace) to put them in a better position vis-a-vis the salary cap.” Houston Rockets center Omer Asik, who has asked for a trade, has been linked to the Celtics. “I don’t know if they’ll get a good enough package for him,” said one NBA source when asked if the Rockets are willing to deal Asik. “I think teams like him and think he’s a good player, but he is a non-offensive, non-free throw shooting center, and he’s not Dwight Howard. And he has a $15 million balloon payment coming next year.” Humphries is owed $12 million this season while Wallace will make $10.1 million each of the next three seasons. “If you don’t hear of some superstar going back to the Celtics for Rondo, don’t pay any attention to it,” a general manager the Herald. “They don’t want to trade the guy anyway, but when people are throwing names like Iman Shumpert and Raymond Felton and Amare Stoudemire (Knicks) out there, you can be sure Rondo’s not involved. “Look, like I said, they don’t want to trade Rondo. Why would they? I’m sure they’d have to listen if there was another major star involved, but it would have to be really big. This other stuff just doesn’t make any sense.” The post Rumor: Celtics looking to trade veteran players appeared first on Sports Glory.

Rondo continues working with Bryan Doo, tries to dunk

Here’s a short vid of Rajon Rondo working with Bryan Doo before the C’s game with the Wolves last night. Minnesota’s CSN affiliate aired the clip, which shows Rajon trying to dunk off of his surgically repaired left leg. Danny Ainge said last week that there is still no timetable for Rondo’s return. I’d say just the fact that he’s trying to dunk is encouraging. To me...

Wallace talks about his league phone call over dropping F-bomb after Rockets blowout

After the Celtics got destroyed by Houston Tuesday night, Gerald Wallace had some colorful language expressing his confusion over what just happened. Well the league didn't care much for his word choice and fined him $10,000. Following Boston's loss to San Antonio Wednesday night, Wallace talked about his phone call with the league over the fine. From the Boston Herald:...

Trade Rumor: Is Amare on his way to Boston?

As previously reported by Matt Richissin, the Rajon Rondo trade rumors made stops in Houston and New York today. According to ESPN's Chris Broussard, Boston has every intention of keeping their All-Star point guard; the public stance they've held since the trade of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Sources: Right now, Celtics have every intention of keeping Rondo & seeing...

Rajon Rondo Reacts To Stat Sheet Vs. Rockets (GIF)

Rajon Rondo looked a bit startled as he reviewed the stat sheet vs. the Houston Rockets Tuesday night.  The Celtics lost big, 109-85. The post Rajon Rondo Reacts To Stat Sheet Vs. Rockets (GIF) appeared first on Beyond The Buzzer.

Your Morning Dump… Where Gerald Wallace doesn’t know what the happened last night

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “I don’t know what the (expletive) tonight was, just to be honest with you,” Wallace said. “I don’t really know what was going on.” … Stevens was unwilling to just move on from this one. “I think...

Report: Celtics Would Consider Trading Humphries & Wallace for Amare

If a trade like this would happen, it is essentially swamping bad contracts for bad contracts. Nothing more, nothing less. At least from the Knicks perspective the bad contracts would be healthy enough to play full minutes. Based on my story, a source said Boston might be willing to trade for Amar'e Stoudemire and send Kris Humphries and Gerald Wallace to NY. — Jared Zwerling...

Humphries frustrated with role on Celtics

One of the lingering questions Celitcs fans have been asking of themselves is, where is ______? There have been numerous names to occupy the blank space during the first 11 games of the season – Gerald Wallace, Jeff Green, Avery Bradley, etc. One member of the team has been asking this question about himself since the preseason is Kris Humphries- the Celtics 28 year old 6-foot...

High price of Rajon Rondo

Remember those teams you used to think the Celtics could poach for a good player? You know, pick a nowhere club with a star and figure you can send them a batch of goodies to balance the trade scale? Well, the Celtics are now apparently one of those other teams. Thus has begun the season of rumors of how opponents are offering/should offer/it would be really cool if they did offer...

Boston Celtics Aren’t Trading Rondo to the Knicks

I’ve been saying it all summer and I’ll continue to say it now. As soon as Rajon Rondo comes back from his ACL tear and proves that he is still himself, expect Danny Ainge to be actively trying to move the all-star point guard as the Celtics completely enter rebuilding mode. The value for Rondo […]

Random Thoughts - Lots going on off the court

There is a lot going on off the court, even if there aren't many wins happening on the court. The Celtics have a two day break between games, which is a luxury for this month. They have yet another tough back to back set coming up in Houston and then San Antonio Tuesday and Wednesday. And then they come back home to the red hot Indiana Pacers. The Celtics have discovered...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Spurs 11/20

Well, this loss was depressing. Tonight, the Celtics, despite putting up a great effort, fell to the Spurs, 104-93. I'm not mad that they didn't win this game, but I must say I found it tough to take. They played very well, so I expected them to come away victorious. But, I guess sometimes the effort's just not enough.Anyway, tonight's USOTN goes to the lack of playing...

Danny Ainge Denies Trade Rumors Surrounding Rajon Rondo

We can totally ignore this latest Rajon Rondo denial from Danny Ainge or take it with a grain of salt. On Monday, Danny Ainge told the Boston Herald once again, that the Celtics aren’t interested in trading Rajon Rondo, nor have they fielded calls from teams about the point guard. “I haven’t talked to any teams about Rajon Rondo,” Celts’ president of basketball operation...

Danny Ainge denies Rajon Rondo rumors for what feels like the zillionth time

Getting a little tired of the same song and dance, Danny. The Boston Herald spoke to Danny Ainge this morning who denied, yet again, that the Celtics are at all interested in trading Rajon Rondo or have fielded calls in pursuit of such a deal. "I haven't talked to any teams about Rajon Rondo," Celts' president of basketball operation Danny Ainge told the Herald...

Report: Celtics Willing to Take Amar’e Stoudemire

When it was reported earlier yesterday that the Boston Celtics had no reported interest in trading Rajon Rondo to the New York Knicks, it was thought that any type of deal between the two teams would be dead for this season at least. When it was revealed that the Knicks were trying to get rid of Amar’e's contract, I thought all deals would be dead because who could possibly...

Recap: Sully shines as C’s show better effort in loss to Spurs

Tonight’s Celtics game started much better than Tuesday’s debacle.  Behind solid 1st quarters from Avery Bradley, Jeff Green & Jared Sullinger, the C’s were up 25-22 after 1Q in San Antonio tonight. With the exception of some poor transition defense, Boston looked like it was going to give the Spurs all they could handle early. Most importantly, it appeared Jeff Green...
