Last night's game was disappointing to say the least, and while there were some troubling signs, the Celtics did show the potential to be a contending force.
Health: Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce both looked healthy. KG didn't score much, but he appeared much more fit than he did at last year's opening. The Big Ticket had 2 blocks and 12 rebounds along with 2 clutch buckets. The Truth came out on fire, and even though he started missing late in the game, you have to be pleased with 23 points, especially considering last year he was overweight and missed the opener with a bad heel. The Heart and Soul of the Celtics showed that they have not suffered significant decline since last year, and can still play at the elite level Boston need to contend.
LEANDRO BARBOSA. (And Bass): The Brazilian Blur scored 16 points in the 4th quarter. His playing time will be limited, especially when Bradley gets back, but how reassuring is it to know that if a starter goes down y...
BEST OF MAXIM
Ray Allen checked into his first game as a member of the Miami Heat with 2:45 left in the first quarter of the team’s season-opening game against the Boston Celtics. Allen, who spent five season with the Celtics but had a bad breakup as he chose to sign with the rival team, tried to give a warm greeting to his former team. He gave handshakes to his former coaches and players,...
In and Insider article, Mark Stein posted his top five potent duos in the NBA. There are the ones that you might expect. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James lesd the list. He lists Dwight Howard with any one of 3 other Lakers (Kobe, Nash, or Gasol) as his second choice. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili are the third, which kind of surprised me. Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah came in 4th...
Some might not like it. Some might love it.
I love it.
Things aren’t going especially well right now, so here’s some distraction for you. When Ray Allen checked in for the Celtics, he walked by the Boston bench, high-fiving and hugging ex-coaches and teammates. Predictably when he got to KG, his greeting was pretty much ignored. But the best part was KG’s expression as Ray Allen walked away. Observe:If looks could kill, Miami would...
During the NBA off-season, Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett stated that he lost former teammate Ray Allen's phone number after he signed with the Miami Heat. As you would figure, Ray attempted to bury the hatchet by going up to KG while he was sitting on the Celtics bench.Watch as Ray gives him a love tap that doesn't get recognized by Kevin:
Ray Allen downplayed Kevin Garnett's cold shoulder on Tuesday night, saying, "That's just KG." Well, KG's explanation was KG-esque.
Garnett, who completely ignored Allen's attempt to exchange some pleasantries upon checking into Tuesday's game, said he was just focused on the task at hand. Then again, the jersey Allen was wearing had...
So Ray Allen skipped town (Boston) after the Celtics couldn’t get passed the Heat in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. Mr. Jesus Shuttlesworth followed the old theory that “if you can’t beat them, join them” and signed with Miami this offseason. When the Celts and Heat squared off in the NBA opener tonight, Celtics forward Kevin Garnett showed Allen just how happy...
Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce speak after Tuesday night's loss.
Celtics star Kevin Garnett said he lost Ray Allen’s number once he defected to the Heat. Garnett takes that team jumping thing seriously- at least from Ray Allen. Allen went over to the C’s bench before tip-off to give dap to the coaching staff and acknowledge KG. But the gesture wasn’t reciprocated. video via IFWT
After playing for the Boston Celtics in the last five NBA seasons, 10-time All-Star Ray Allen rejected a two-year, $12-million offer from the team in the offseason, and instead chose to go to the 'dark side', signing a three-year deal with the Miami Heat. And wouldn't you know it, the Celtics and Heat are meeting to open the NBA season tonight in Miami (technically the...
Doc Rivers and the Celtics need to get back to worrying about getting through the regular season
Opening night in the NBA for the Boston Celtics had almost everything. There was Kevin Garnett giving the Ray Allen “I will (bleeping) murder you” face, both the Celtics and the Heat played hard and the game even ended with a hard foul that has both teams riled up and ready to throw...
Is hate too strong of a word?
The guys find out which sports stars andcelebrities have the best Halloween costumes, and why Kevin Garnett stiffed Ray Allen last night
Lots of hate for the Celtics as can be expected along with some
gloating over Ray's performance. They also do a lot of whining about
the refs for a team that gets more than their share of the calls. They
think Wade gets no respect from the refs? How about the fact that he
was allowed to push off on every drive to the basket and get away with
it, which resulted in a...
