Despite the bitter playoff losses Celtics fans have suffered over the last 4 years, there's one thing we too often forget: this was only supposed to be a 3 year run. When Danny Ainge first assembled the Hall of Fame trio in Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen, the sporting world erupted in excitement over the sweeping "all-in" move. Apparently sacrificing the future to win now, Ainge acquire "The Big Ticket" in an unprecedented 7 for 1 trade after giving up a promising rookie in Jeff Green to acquire Allen, one of the greatest shooters in league history. Though many doubted "The Big 3's" ability to win a championship, everyone agreed they would be an exciting, competitive team. What no one expected, however, was that the same core would be a game away from the NBA Finals half a decade later. Flash forward to present day. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo are all NBA Champions. The Celtics have won a playoff series e...

Pat Riley to Danny Ainge: 'STFU'

Danny Ainge recently said that LeBron needs to stop doing so much complaining, and that apparently did not sit well with Pat Riley, to say the least.

Ainge calls LeBron’s complaints about officiating “embarrassing”

You expect bloggers, fans and sports radio hosts to react to LeBron James’ whining about officiating. But an NBA general manager? Yesterday on WEEI, Danny Ainge joined the fray: “I think the referees got the calls right. I don’t think it was a hard foul,” Ainge said of the mixups involving James and Heinrich, as well as another one involving James and Taj Gibson. “I think...

Your Morning Dump…where without KG, chances are slim

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. After watching the New York Knicks mow down the Boston Celtics 100-85 at TD Garden on Tuesday night, it was painfully obvious what transpired for the beleaguered home team: No KG, no fun. No chance, either....

LeBron James makes like Chris Bosh, hilariously videobombs Ray Allen

LeBron James gave Chris Bosh the night off from acting goofy and interrupting teammate interviews with wacky antics, when he hilariously videobombed Ray Allen following the Heat’s 108-94 victory over the Magic. That’s 27 wins in a row for those of you counting at home, and only six from tying the Lakers’ record of 33 wins in a row. If the Heat fail to break, or even tie, the...

LeBron catches alley-oop from Norris Cole, video-bombs Ray Allen

LeBron James and the Miami Heat extended their winning streak to 27 consecutive games after Monday’s win over the Orland Magic. James, who finished one rebound short of a triple-double, had two impressive bombs on the night. The first was the one-handed oop that James nearly caught over Beno Udrih. Secondly, James pulled a Bosh and videobombed Ray Allen’s interview. [@cjzero]

Heat's 3-point shooting crucial during streak

ORLANDO, Fla. This run at history has revealed many things about the Miami Heat: their efficiency, their versatility, their brutal ability to sink an opponent both inside and outside the arc. The latest evidence of this dual attack came Monday night at Amway Center, during a 108-94 thumping of the Orlando Magic to claim their 27th consecutive victory, when Miamis sharpshooters...
