As the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets stood by eagerly, while officials gathered around the replay monitor, I couldn’t help but be overcome with a strong sense of déjà vu. The Celtics led 92-90 with little under four seconds to play. The Nuggets’ Kenneth Faried had just missed two potential game-tying free throws, Andre Miller failed to make good on the team’s 1,039,869th second-chance opportunity of the night and the resulting rebound was batted out of bounds. Boston ball. Win streak intact. Except it wasn’t. Instead, following an overruling of the original call, Denver was gifted possession of the ball. Ty Lawson made the most of it, waltzing into the paint for the equalizing bucket with just under a second left on the clock. Sound familiar? A big fourth quarter lead vanished? Check. Jump shots that were falling for three quarters suddenly clanking off the rim? Check. A game that should have been won in regulation entering overtime? Check. I knew how this one was go...

Don't be shocked if Paul Pierce is added to the All-Star team

Paul Pierce wasn't picked as a reserve for the 2013 All-Star game, nor was he picked as a replacement to fill Rajon Rondo's vacant spot. This despite the fact that Pierce's numbers are remarkably similar to his his stats in previous All-Star seasons. Pierce has been on fire lately (A couple huge triple doubles included) and it appears there might be an All-Star roster...

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce Lead Celtics Into West Coast Adventure

Forget about the shroud of uncertainty surrounding the Boston Celtics thanks to trade rumors and injury concerns circulating this season. It seems as though the veteran ball club has done everything in their power to stave off the doubt and not only maintain their legitimacy in the Eastern Conference, but improve their NBA odds in the process. With a five-game West Coast swing on...

Celtics-Bulls Live: Kevin Garnett Gets Some Unfinished Business Out of Way Before Heading to All-Star Game

8 a.m. ET: Kevin Garnett will be the only Celtics player on the court this weekend, and no, that’s not because he will be the only one still healthy. Garnett is the Celtics’ lone representative at All-Star weekend this year, as Rajon Rondo, who was due to start at point guard for the East, is out with a torn ACL in his right knee and Paul Pierce was left off the roster. But before...

KG yells ‘Get That Sh*t Outta here N*gga’ after Blocking Kenneth Faried’s Shot (Video)

Kevin Garnett has never been one to hold his tongue on the court. Known widely for his explicit language, Garnett makes it clear that he will never change that aspect of his on the court game. So now we have this video courtesy of The Big Lead. Check out the interesting commentary KG had after blocking a shot.

Kevin Garnett Once Refused To Do An Interview With Dwight Howard

Kevin Garnett hasn’t been shy on his feelings towards Dwight Howard these days. Just over the summer he called Howard a clown, turns out Garnett’s loathing for the fellow Super Star player goes deeper. TNT correspondent Craig Sager revealed in a radio appearance on 98.5 Toucher and Rich an interesting story from an All-Star Game two years ago. Courtesy Reds Army for the...

Paul Pierce, Celtics Must Borrow From Nuggets’ Style While Keeping Own Late-Game Mentality

BOSTON — Andre Miller, a veteran of 14 seasons and more than a thousand games in the NBA, summed it up best. “I think everybody played like they wanted to go home,” he said. Miller and the Nuggets came out on the losing end of a triple-overtime battle on Sunday in the battle of the two hottest teams in the NBA. The Celtics’ survived, extending their win streak to seven games...

Celtics’ Win Streak Ends But Status of Leandro Barbosa, Avery Bradley of Much Greater Concern

Jason Terry‘s last shot told the whole story. With the Celtics up by four and Terry seemingly heating up with two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter already, the veteran sharpshooter let loose a long-range shot that might have put the nail in the Bobcats’ coffin. The other four guys in green jerseys turned to jog back down the court, anticipating another flight for the Jet. As...

Celtics leave Charlotte beaten and battered

CHARLOTTE, N.C - Heading into Time Warner Cable Arena Monday night, the Boston Celtics were as hot as any team in the league with seven straight wins, handing the Heat, Clippers, Nuggets and Lakers all losses during that stretch. Who'd have thought it'd be the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, the bunch with the worst record in the NBA, that would cool them off? As if a blown four...

3 OT Effort Lifts Celtics To 7th Straight Win

The Celtics needed three overtimes, but managed to get their seventh win in a row, with a 118-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets at the TD Garden. Paul Pierce and the Celtics have had a chance to show their toughness with Rondo out The Boston Celtics won their seventh straight game Sunday, this one a triple overtime epic against the Denver Nuggets. Bobcats 94, Celtics 91: Win streak ends, Barbosa might be out for season

Clearly, that was how the winning streak was meant to end, at the hands of the Charlotte Bobcats, with Byron Mullens feigning dominance, after a final-minute four-point lead disappeared and Ramon Sessions hit a game-winning jumper and Paul Pierce — who clearly, in all his OG-ness, would have drilled that 3-pointer Sunday night — came up short while Avery Bradley missed Boston’s...
