Meyers Leonard has been out since December 29th, and he's not ready to come back. The rookie center for the Portland Trail Blazers rolled his ankle in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers and has not been able to return since. Now, it appears he will be out an another couple weeks.According to Chris Haynes of CSN Northwest, Leonard has made progress in recovering from his sprained right ankle, but he is still in a walking boot, and he is still battling swelling. However, Leonard is hopeful he can return soon."I would hope at least in the next couple of weeks,” Leonard said. “We'll see. There's really no telling. Some of these things can take two weeks, some of them can take six weeks. I just have to keep my fingers crossed that I'm back as soon as possible.”In his rookie season, Leonard has seen some action, but probably not as much as he'd like. As he continues to adjust to the NBA, Leonard is only averaging 16.6 minutes per game. In that time, he is still making a contribution. So far this season, Leonard is averaging 4.7 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game. The Trail Blazers are having a successful season so far with a record of 19-15. They will want Leonard back as soon as possible to help continue their success. He may not play very many minutes, but Leonard gives the Blazers both depth and size.
