PLAYERS: Jeff Green
TEAMS: Boston Celtics
Tonight, the Celtics lost a game that they definitely should have won. It seemed like the opening couple of minutes screwed them for the rest of the game. They trailed by nine after the first and never improved. In the fourth quarter, they made a very small run that gave then some momentum as they got to within 12. After that, they gave up, the Lakers regained a 20-point lead, and the rest was history. Tonight's USOTN goes to the performance of Jeff Green. Green, due to the team's bad performance, received no attention for his solid game. Green scored 15 points on 5/12 shooting. This isn't extremely unusual for him, but it still was underrated. He, along with Pierce and Lee, were the only guys who played well for the C's tonight. Tonight's game was no doubt embarrassing to the team and gave the anti-Celtic media more reasons to hate on them. Playing hard in an NBA game is not a choice. If you are payed to play something as simple as basketball, you should be thankful and take advantage of it. Not just stand around and do nothing. We saw a weak team tonight. Tonight's game was not won by the Lakers, it was lost by the Celtics.

Green Envy: What Suns fans said - 2/22

No KG? No problem! This game wasn’t fun to watch if you are a Suns fan, and the forums showed. Jeff Green started at center for the C’s and had his way with them. The Suns fans were out in full quirkiness with their unabashed sorrow for their awful team. The only thing they got jacked up for was when the Morris’s bro and Garrett got some PT…. oh the good ‘ol days of getting...

He shot well, 8-12 overall from the field and 2-4 from 3. Unfortunately his efforts did not get the Celtics the win. You Take: How well did Jeff Green play last night? Sound off in the comments! Recap: Jeff Green leads rout of Suns

What Jeff Green did to the Suns tonight wasn’t nice at all.  Let’s just say Doc picked the right game to rest KG and start Jeff.  The Suns had NO answers for Green as he dropped 31 on 11 of 14 shooting in a 113-88 win.  And that was just the start.  Let’s get to it… The Green: Never before has this section been more appropriately named.  Jeff Green **** on the Suns tonight...

Slow start dooms Suns in ugly loss to Celtics

PHOENIX (AP) -- Jeff Green gave Boston a sensational performance in his first start in nearly two years. Green scored a season-high 31 points on 11-of-14 shooting and the short-handed Celtics routed the Phoenix Suns 113-88 on Friday night. "I didn't have a different mindset," said Green, who missed last season following heart surgery to correct an aortic aneurysm...

Jeff Green leads Boston Celtics’ rout of the Phoenix Suns 113-88

Danny kept the gang together and the Celtics responded, snapping a two-game losing streak rolling over the Suns to get their first win of this five game West Coast road-trip. Even without Kevin Garnett held out for rest, the Celtics throttled the hapless Suns and pulled away in the second half on route to a 113-88 victory. Despite having only one legitimate big-man in uniform, the...

Jeff Green Takes Criticism of Play, Body Language in Stride as Celtics Forward Finds His Rhythm

Jeff Green thoroughly enjoyed Notre Dame and Louisville’s five-overtime thrill ride two weeks ago, likes girls who are “sneakerheads” and could not challenge anyone to a snowball fight during this month’s massive snowstorm because he does not have gloves. Then again, you know this already — if you follow Green on Twitter. The Celtics forward is one of the most active professional...

Jeff Green Helps Celtics Work Past Injuries to Rajon Rondo, Jared Sullinger, Leandro Barbosa

The Boston Celtics have thrived amid adversity this season, relying on the one-two punch of veterans Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to beat the prevailing NBA odds and prove that their window of opportunity for another championship hasn’t closed just yet. But they haven’t been doing it alone — 26-year-old Jeff Green has been a big part of their success lately. While season-ending...

KG to Sit vs Suns - C's Set to Sign White

Kevin Garnett will sit tonight vs the Phoenix Suns and Jeff Green will get the start in his place. Small ball doesn't begin to describe what we will see tonight. More like "Mini Ball." There is help on the way, however. The Celtics are set to sign DJ White, who could be in uniform as soon as Sunday. White, who is a 6'9" forward, played in China this past...

Celtics fall to Nuggets 97-90, as the season's second half tips off

T-40 hours until the NBA's trade deadline, and in case you haven't noticed - there are a few Celtics related rumors floating around. And by a few, I mean a million (CelticsLife has all the latest trade buzz for you right here). However, the games do not end while GM's across the league ponder their team's future, and for the Celtics, their Rondo-less journey continued...

Looks like Celtics no longer in the running for Josh Smith

It was fun while it lasted. While the below doesn't necessarily mean that something couldn't change between now and 3 p.m. tomorrow, it appears that the Celtics aren't in the top three for Josh Smith anymore. Among teams and officials involved in Josh Smith talks, the three most likely destinations right now: Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Phoenix. — Adrian Wojnarowski (...

Where we stand with all the trade rumors

We’re less than 24 hours from the NBA trade deadline, and the Celtics are in middle of just about every trade rumor out there.  So here’s a quick reset of where we stand with everyone on the roster.  We’ll run it down by order of roster number: Teams are asking about him, but he’s not being actively shopped.  The Timberwolves have interest, but Danny isn’t giving him...

Recap: Anyone still awake?

You knew that the Lakers and their fans would be emotional tonight, and that L.A. would feed off of it, but the Celtics showed little resistance. Call it “tired legs”, second night of a back-to-back, blah blah. Boston just did not play defense tonight. Period. They fall 113-99 on L.A. As Doc told his troops at halftime, “they’re getting whatever they want..” Couldn’t...

Are the Celtics better off without making a major move

The Celtics players can exhale now that the trade deadline has past with barely a blip on the radar screen.  Boston has made some minor moves to add to their guard core, but still failed to address the donut hole in the middle. The one thing that makes me wander what the "#@#$", Doc Rivers and Danny have in mind for the race to the playoffs was the trade of Jason Collins...

Oh, hi universe. What is with all the pranks?

Or is it you, Lucky? Hi. What's up? Excited about the trade rumors and anxious to know what will happen to the Celtics? Yeah, me too. I have some bad news, though. The universe has a big prank planned for us. This whole season has been marked by the universe's decision to become the ultimate prankster on Celtics fans, and I don't know when and in what shape the final...
