IFC’s cult-hit Portlandia has developed a huge fan-base in the Upper Northwest, people who enjoy the wry and dry comedy of creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. Armisen and Brownstein love to take Portland to task and all of it’s liberal trappings. It appears they have a fan in Portland Trailblazers first-time All-Star center LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge will make a cameo on this Friday’s episode of Portlandia as the boyfriend of a bookstore owner played by legendary, zany comic Penny Marshall. It’s a dynamic duo– and an odd pairing to say the least– that should be good for a laugh or two. Will Aldridge’s first comedic performance earn him the types of opportunities which have popped up for guys like Blake Griffin? If he has the chops, you can bet they will.
