Derrick Rose is a passionate and one of the most humble players in the NBA. The Chicago Bulls point guard and former MVP always makes it a priority to thank those who give praise to those who have helped him get to where he’s at and doesn’t appear to have let success get to his head.
Thursday during the launch for Rose’s third signature Adidas brand basketball shoe the ‘D Rose 3‘, Rose broke into tears on the stage after a video of his recovery from knee surgery. (Rose's reaction to the movie starts around the 0:50 mark).
''It's truly a blessing with all the stuff that is going on in the city,'' said Rose, a product of the tough Englewood neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. ''A kid from Englewood's got something positive going on. That makes me feel so good. ... To have my true fans, that means a lot to me and I know it means a lot to my family.''
Adidas has been releasing a web series chronicling Rose’s rehab of an ACL injury suffered in last season’s playoffs and clearly watching the video was overwhelming for him.
Given the emotion Rose displays, it’s difficult not to root for him to make a full recovery and return to the NBA better than ever. Best of luck to Rose in his rehab.
When Chicago Bulls All-Star Derrick Rose took to his Twitter account to lend his voice to the ongoing teacher’s strike in Chicago in his own mind he may have been voicing a simple opinion.
