Yi's club announced that they would block his move to the USA, and Yi's club cheif said, Yi will defininently not play for the Milwaukee Bucks. What does this mean for future Asian players who want to jump to the NBA?

  • That sucks for Milwaukee. They had a lottery pick in one of the deepest, most talented drafts in recent memory and they picked someone who they will get 0 production out of. I guess it is kinda their fault for picking him in the first place.
  • Yeah i agree.
  • It is only their fault if they denied paying attention to clues of this happening before the lottery took place. If the Bucks got all the answers they were looking for they do not hold any of the blame and should be able to go after that semi-pro Asian team in court.
  • I agree.
  • This is bad for future Chinese players too. I remember NBA teams being gun-shy about drafting Soviets after Sabonis was held by the USSR after Portland drafted him. The Blazers knew they were going to have to wait, but they ended up waiting longer than anticipated.

Yi's club (and his agent) are not exactly paving a smooth road for Asian players.
  • I know Milwaukee was retarded for even drafting Yi. But, at the same time, I'm sick and tired of how these foreign players view our country. You think you get to pick and choose where you want to play? Hey buddy, why do you want to even play in America if your country is so great? Play out your days in the behind the "Great Wall". I'm sure the NBA will survive.
  • The commisioner should bar Yi from ever playing in the NBA.
  • These draft picks, whether it be from a U.S. university or a foriegn country or what have you, understand that there is a lottery system for the weaker teams for good reason! There is no excuse for any of them to balk on the team that selects them, to which they're paid very well plus endorsements. When this kind of thing takes place it disrupts the league and gives the selecting team an extreme hardship. These players should have to at least compensate the unfortunate franchise that drafts them or be suspended if they're let back into the league to another NBA team if not banned for the minimum rookie contract years. SOMETHING!
