According to Calvin Watkins of ESPN, the Cowboys have restructured QB Kyle Orton‘s contract.
Watkins mentions that Cowboys will still need to release one player before they can officially sign LB Justin Durant and DB Will Allen, who both have agreed to terms in the past few days.
Orton, 30, is considered one of the better backups in the league right now after previously playing for the Bears and Broncos.
The Cowboys could free up plenty of additional cap room by working out long-term contract extensions for QB Tony Romo and DE Anthony Spencer.
