The Cowboys’ schedule is tied for the 11th most difficult. The team’s opponents had a combined record of 129-127 in 2011, with seven of those teams winning at least nine games.

Dallas opens the season with two road games at the Giants and at Seattle before returning home to host Tampa Bay and Chicago. The team’s bye comes in week 5.

Dallas then has a tough stretch, facing Baltimore, Carolina, the Giants, Atlanta, and Philadelphia in five consecutive weeks.

The Cowboys play the Redskins on Thanksgiving Day. It marks the seventh time that Dallas and Washington have faced off on Thanksgiving, and the first time since 2002.

Here is the schedule:

9/5 at N.Y. Giants (NBC, 7:30 p.m.)
9/16 at Seattle (Fox, 3:05 p.m.)
9/23 vs. Tampa Bay (Fox, Noon)
10/1 vs. Chicago (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.)

Some early thoughts on the Cowboys 2012 schedule

The long wait came to end last night as the NFL released the 2012 NFL schedule. So many fans could not wait to look at their teams schedules to see who they played first, did they have any primetime game, were they home or away for more than two weeks in a row, when were the division games being played. Then I’m sure most fans like me went down the schedule one game at time thinking...

Witten: Cowboys have 'plenty of leaders'

SOUTHLAKE, Texas -- During a local radio interview in February, Cowboys defensive end Jason Hatcher was asked who the leaders were on the Cowboys roster. Hatcher struggled to give an answer before replying, "That's a good question. I really don't know." Hatcher, who was a guest on The Ben and Skin Show on 103.3 KESN-FM, went on to say the Cowboys lacked a vocal...

Miles Austin: I wasn't prepared condition-wise

After compiling consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons in 2009 and 2010, Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin battled with hamstring injuries in 2011, preventing him from playing in six games. The two-time Pro Bowler was recently asked if he is training differently to ready himself for the 2012 campaign. While answering that question on a video clip posted on MensHealth.com, Austin...

Report: Michael Brockers visiting the Cowboys on Tuesday

According to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, LSU defensive tackle Michael Brockers will be visiting the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday. Brockers is a highly touted prospect that could potentially be taken in the top ten of next week’s draft.  The Cowboys are clearly hoping that he some how falls to them at number 14 overall. Brockers is a load at 6’6″ 320 pounds and could easily come...

Cowboys met with David DeCastro

According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, the Dallas Cowboys met with Stanford guard David DeCastro recently after his first visit was canceled. Just a few days ago, we mentioned a report that indicated the Cowboys could end up trading down in the first round of next week’s draft in order to take DeCastro who would help them continue to solidify their offensive line.

Miles Austin admits to being out of shape

There wasn’t much of an offseason in the NFL last season due to the lockout. The lockout affected some players but not all as there wasn’t too much of a dropoff in play. Dallas Cowboys receiver Miles Austin was one of the players the lockout hurt. After coming out of nowhere and piling up back to back 1,000 yard seasons, Austin experienced a decline in production because he...

Miles Austin admits he wasn’t ready for last season

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin told MensHealth.com that he wasn’t prepared to play last season after the offseason lockout and he plans on preparing a lot differently this offseason. “I feel like last year I wasn’t prepared for the season the way I should’ve been condition-wise, even though I looked and felt it at the time,” Austin said. “That’s one thing...

Romo Making Another U.S. Open Run

Tony Romo has been pretty busy considering this is his offseason. Last week his wife gave birth to their first child. This week, a report indicates that Romo will make another run at qualifying for the U.S. Open. You can say what you like about Romo, but there is no denying that he’s a great [...]

Terrell Owens: Tony Romo ‘had a hand’ in me not being in Dallas anymore

We hadn’t heard much from Terrell Owens lately which is a good thing. Not only for us, but also for his sake. Owens is still holding out hoping that he can make a return to the NFL and no longer have to play football in fear of getting knocked over a wall. So just as teams gear up for OTA’s and are beginning to take a look at possible free agents to bring to camp, Owens jumped...

Boss Move? Tony Romo Back On Golf Course 5 Days After Birth Of Son

And here we figured women wanted the husband/BF around 24/7 after the birth of a child to do chores like changing deuce diapers and make lunch. Pfft, not if you’re Tony Romo. Remember how his wife gave birth a week ago Monday? It was Candice Crawford’s first baby. We figure there is like a two-week period where it’s like baby vacation. Just sit around and stare at the kid...

Should Notorious Fumbler Tony Romo Be Allowed to Hold His Baby?

As we all know, Tony Romo and Candice Crawford are now parents. The question is; do you let Tony Romo, who has a history of dropping the ball, hold the baby? I love how Romo made sure he had on his backwards Cowboys hat, and Candice Crawford looks like she could slip into a dress and go to dinner after giving birth for 10 hours.
