And with the twenty-third pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select…. Well, if you read my last Lions piece, you are probably hoping for South Carolina’s Stephon Gilmore. However, with the unpredictability the Lions have displayed over the past decade when it comes to drafting, who knows what route they will go.  Detroit has showed everyone over the past years that they are not afraid to throw positional needs out the window and draft based on the best available talent. Drafting defensive tackle Nick Fairley in the first round last year made that statement very clear.  However, with a much improved team and a glaring hole at corner, I definitely would bet in Detroit taking a corner in the first round this year, and don’t be surprised if they take another one in round two. Corner is an unpredictable position in the NFL (see Aqib Talib) and the Lions surely need help at that position more than any other. People will make arguments about how bad the offensive line has been, ...
