It appears that Dez Bryant will get the alleged assault of his mother dismissed. The Dallas Cowboys receiver could still face punishment from the NFL.
In July, Bryant was arrested after hitting his mother in the face with a ball cap. A police affidavit says he also grabbed her shirt. Bryant has been taking anger management classes since the alleged altercation and his mother has since asked that the case not be pursued.
Today Bryant spoke about the actions his attorney has taken to help him get past his legal issue.
”He did a great job and took care of it,” Bryant said. ”That situation is behind me, and I’m just focused on football right now.”
While Bryant may be out of trouble with the law, he could still face punishment from the NFL under a policy that applies to any disposition of criminal charges other than an outright dismissal or acquittal.
It is unlikely that Bryant would be suspended since he does not have a history of assault. It is more likely that Bryant will be fined. S...
