This morning, Giants quarterback Eli Manning watched the film of the Eagles-Raiders game and insisted his eyes didn’t light up with anticipation as he saw Eagles quarterback Nick Foles have a record-setting day. Manning said having the same success against the Raiders secondary by simply running the same plays or targeting the same players that Foles did isn’t a given. Foles threw an NFL single-game record-tying seven touchdowns in the Eagles’ stunning 49-20 victory on Sunday in Oakland. “You have to run your offense,” said Manning, who’ll face the Raiders on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. “You can’t just look at a play they (the Eagles) ran and say, ‘Oh, we have to run this play.’ You might get a different defense, you might get a different response. “You have to run the plays that you’re comfortable with, that you know how to execute no matter what coverage or defense you get you’re going to be prepared for.” Foles completed 22 of 28 passes for 406 yards, seven touchdowns and no interception against the Raiders. He and Denver’s Peyton Manning have each tied the single-game touchdown record this season. Before this season, the Vikings’ Joe Kapp was the last to do it in 1969.
