The Seattle Seahawks don’t have many pressing needs, but they could use a few more pass rushers. Getting after the quarterback is always vital, however, when you’re running a version of the ‘Tampa 2,’ a defense needs a solid rotation of linemen due to the fact they are usually the only four rushing the quarterback. Pete Carroll and his staff have some talent up front in Chris Clemons and rookie Bruce Irvin, but they need depth to keep sustained pressure when their starters come off the field. According to Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times, getting some reserves for the line is the top priority on a short list of needs. O’Neil writes: ‘Options exist on the open market this year, whether it's veterans like Dwight Freeney of the Colts or Osi Umenyiora of the Giants or younger players like Paul Kruger of Baltimore or perhaps Michael Johnson of Cincinnati. It's not that Seattle's pass rush was toothless. Chris Clemons had double-digit sacks for the third successive season since coming to Seattle, and last year's first-round pick of Bruce Irvin had eight sacks, most among NFL rookies. But no one else on the team had more than three sacks. Throw in that Clemons will be coming back from reconstructive knee surgery, and there's no doubt about Seattle's desire to improve the pass rush.’   var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
