Wherever there’s a big-time sporting event and a ton of television cameras, the Washington State flag goes too. The Ol’ Crimson Booster Club, which has been “waving the flag” at events like ESPN’s College GameDay for just over a decade, struck again yesterday – this time at the World Cup. During the second half of the USA vs. Ghana match, you could see both the Wazzu flag and the ’12th Man’ flag that Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Sounders fans wave during games.

Perhaps it was the good luck charm that the US needed to escape with victory. Either way, it’s a great reminder that college football season is just two months away.
