Found May 03, 2013 on NFL Trade Rumors:
Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that two league sources have informed her that Jason Campbell will be given a “legitimate shot” at winning the Browns starting quarterback job. Cabot’s source added that the idea of a quarterback competition between Campbell and Brandon Weeden is “more than just lip service.” Weeden will enter offseason workouts as the team’s No. 1 quarterback, but head coach Rob Chudzinski mentioned that Campbell can expect to see some reps with the first-team unit as well. “It’s early in the process,” Chudzinski said.”Campbell will get some reps with the ones as well along the way. But this is a long, long process and there’s a long time between now and our opener. We’ve got plenty of time and this is just the first step.” “If Campbell looks significantly better during camp, they won’t hesitate to start him on opening day,” writes Cabot. Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski isn't committing to Weeden as starter just yet

Cleveland Brown head coach Rob Chudzinski is playing this one real safe. Although the team chose not to draft a quarterback like most thought they would, he is still hesitant to name Brandon Weeden the starter. It may be the right way to go to keep the 2nd-year QB on his toes, but even if it's not being said, Weeden will likely be the starter. You think they'll really give...

NFL News: Browns’ Chudzinski won’t name starting quarterback

The Cleveland Browns did not draft a quarterback last weekend, but that has apparently not cemented the starting job for last year’s rookie Brandon Weeden. In an interview with 92.3 The Fan, Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said that he expects the recently added Jason Campbell to compete with Weeden for the starting job. “We’ll just see as we go forward,” said Chudzinski...

Experience should help Jason Campbell win the Browns starting quarterback role this season.

Jason Campbell sees himself as the Browns starting quarterback, not the second string backup to Brandon Weeden. All Campbell has to do, is play it smart throughout training camp and through the preseason. If he does that, Chudzinski has little choice but to name Campbell as the teams starting quarterback. Campbell should be able to use his 8 years experience in the NFL to beat out...
