IRVING, Texas -- Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo practiced in pads for the first time Wednesday since bruising his ribs Sunday and said pronounced himself fit enough to play this weekend. "I felt fine, just normal soreness and stuff going through," Romo said. "I assume by the weekend they'll be fine, good to go." Romo was sandwiched between two pass rushers late in the second half of Sunday's 36-31 win over the Giants. MRI results on Monday showed no fracture, but that doesn't mean he isn't dealing with some pain. This rib injury is not as serious as the one he sustained in 2011 against the 49ers. In that game, Romo suffered a cracked rib and punctured lung. He continued to play in that game and the rest of the season with a protective vest and pain-killing injections. But this latest injury did prove inspirational to at least one teammate. Cornerback Morris Claiborne suffered a dislocated shoulder in the same game but continued to play after seeing Romo in the locker room at halftime. "He's our starting quarterback and for him to say, No matter what, I'm going back in this game'" Claiborne said. "When I heard him say that, I was like, 'Wow.' It goes to show how tough he is."
