ARLINGTON -- Street ball is what Tony Sparano calls it, those situations when a play breaks down and Tony Romo attempts to make something out of nothing. He did it on a couple of occasions Thursday in a 20-19 victory over Sparano's Dolphins. The most important connection came on second-and-10 with 2:54 remaining. Romo rolled out and created some extra time before finding his tight end and good friend, Jason Witten, for a 23-yard gain. "Jason and Tony kind of get into street ball a little bit when Tony gets on a run," Sparano said. "And that's the guy he finds, and it's been the guy he's found ever since the day the kid came in this league. The two of them have been out there on the field together so they did a great job." Sparano knows plenty about the Romo to Witten connection. As an assistant coach in Dallas from 2003-to-2007, Miami's head coach has witnessed his share of Romo making plays that leave opposing teams scratching their heads. "I mean, that's what he does," Sparano said. "It's not the first time I've seen Tony do that, and I've been part of him doing that. I mean, the guy made a couple of really courageous plays. He hung in there." Follow Jon Machota on Twitter: @jonmachota
