In just his third season Torrey Smith has found himself as Baltimore's receiving group's leader. It wasn't something expected necessarily. He was particularly shocked when the Ravens traded Anquan Boldin to San Francisco this offseason. But it's a position he's embraced since it came to him. And it's something he's not taking for granted either. "I've always been driven" Smith said. "I never needed anybody to motivate me. I've always wanted to be better. No one's harder on me than me. I'm my biggest critic." Smith may be a leader on offense. But his coach isn't looking to tag him as "the guy" a label fans and media like to place on players at certain positions. "I know there’s a narrative out there about all that No. 1 No. 2 [and] No. 3 stuff but Torrey will be the same player as he was last year only better" Harbaugh said. "Of course Anquan won’t be there but other guys will be. He’s g...

Baltimore tight end Ed Dickson has a slight tear in his hamstring and will be sidelined for at least a week. Joe Flacco isn’t worried about loss of Pitta and Boldin

The offseason loss of Anquan Boldin and recent injury to Dennis Pitta haven’t got Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco worried.   Pitta was an incredibly reliable target for Flacco in 2012. Head coach Jim Harbaugh downplayed...

Ravens practice hard before PS opener in Tampa...

You might expect a little letdown on the pace of practice now that the first preseason game is only a day away in Tampa. But the Ravens coaches have their pedals to the metal. I can almost hear what Ozzie Newsome (GM) is thinking--- "Weed out the rookies and free agents now, not later...we've got some veteran talent that we'll need to make room for when free agents get...

Ravens TE Ed Dickson suffers strained hamstring

With Dennis Pitta out for the year thanks to a hip injury the Ravens have to turn to Ed Dickson as their starting tight end during their title defense. "Ed Dickson his hamstring grabbed a little bit so we pulled him out for precautionary...
