On Sunday, the Atlantic Coast Conference fined Clemson $10,000 for head coach Dabo Swinney’s criticizing the officiating crews’ late-game pass interference call against Duke. In the 46-45 loss to the Blue Devils, Clemson Tigers cornerback Avieon Terrell was given a pass interference penalty on fourth down to receive an automatic first down.

After the Clemson Tigers’ heartbreaking 46–45 loss to Duke, it’s difficult to find many positives, as the Tigers have now reached their highest loss total in over a decade.
Clemson can’t seem to get any luck going its way, as it dropped a shootout at home to Duke 46-45. This gave the Tigers their third straight home loss. They have yet to beat a Power 4 conference opponent at home this season.
For the majority of the Clemson Tigers’ season, they have struggled to pair up the offense with the defense to play complementary football. However, Clemson had more total yards, first downs and time of possession against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday football.

Dabo Swinney, the coach who built the Tigers into a national power, marched over to his defensive bench late in the second quarter Saturday and unloaded on his secondary with the kind of fury that comes from watching a program crumble in real time.
As Clemson enters the final stretch of this season, it needs to find a spark. The Tigers need to find something to give themselves, as well as fans, hope for the future of the program.
