Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez is recovering after undergoing a minor heart procedure.

Martinez experienced chest pains during Sunday’s win and was hospitalized. He remained in Washington ahead of the Nationals' trip to St. Louis to have a catheter inserted into his heart, and will rejoin the team as soon as possible.

The good news is that it appears Martinez will be healthy enough to rejoin the Nationals soon. While that's certainly a secondary concern to the manager’s health, Washington has a 1.5-game lead for the first NL wild-card spot. Martinez has been a big part of that and has turned around his tenure after a very rocky first season in charge.
