The Cleveland Guardians have made another addition just before the start of the 2025 MLB regular season. Well, kind of. Back in December, the Guardians left infield prospect Christian Cairo unprotected in the Rule 5 Draft, and he was selected by the Atlanta Braves.
The Braves announced that they have returned Rule 5 pick Christian Cairo to the Guardians. Atlanta’s 40-man roster count drops to 37 but Cairo does not need to take up a roster spot with Cleveland.
