Minor League Wrap: Smokies cook the Biscuits, 9-5

In what is getting to be monotonous, the Smokies won and everyone else lost. The Cubs signed outfielder Trayce Thompson to a minor league deal. Trayce played with the Iowa and Chicago Cubs previously in 2021.

The Smokies playoff hopes stay alive with a win. Iowa and Myrtle Beach win as well. Iowa Cubs The Iowa Cubs topped Indianapolis (Pirates), 3-2. Riley Thompson started and got the win after pitching five innings and surrendering two runs, both unearned, on four hits.
