NASCAR Cup Series drivers Kyle Larson and Chris Buescher again finished 1-2 at Kansas Speedway.
Unlike last year’s finish when Larson edged Buescher by 0.001 seconds in the closest finish in circuit history. On Saturday, the results weren’t nearly as significant, but the No. 5 Chevrolet edged the No. 16 Ford during Saturday’s qualifying session to earn the pole position for Sunday’s AdventHealth 400.
Larson’s hot qualifying lap Saturday was clocked at 29.391 seconds. It was a half-tenth second quicker.
Josh Berry, who will start last in the 38-machine field, and Kyle Busch, who’ll begin P35, clipped the wall during their qualifying runs.
The pole was Larson’s first this season and 22nd of his career.

As the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series opener switched from California to North Carolina this season, should fans count on more near-future movement? Perhaps internationally?
The Clash likely will remain domestic in ‘26, but with Mexico City preparing for its debut in June, it’s not a stretch to think the season-opening exhibition could be staged outside of the United States over the next few years.
“I wouldn’t ever rule out international in the future,” NASCAR Executive Vice President Ben Kennedy told NBC Sports. “We have thoughts about a lot of it being prior to the season, in the off-season, an exhibition race. It’s a great opportunity for us to bring NASCAR racing to other parts of the world.”
