The 2024-25 season was a surprise for the Dallas Mavericks. They traded Luka Doncic, their best player, to the Los Angeles Lakers after he led them to the NBA Finals last year. Additionally, the team suffered various injuries, including a season-ending ACL tear on Kyrie Irving’s knee. Following that, the Mavericks struggled and missed the playoffs this year.

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported that Nowitzki, the greatest player to play for the franchise, is turned off.

“Dirk is completely turned off by this franchise. I’ll have more on that coming out once they’re eliminated, probably Thursday morning,” MacMahon said.

Nowitzki’s first post after the blockbuster deal shows his loyalty to the Dallas Mavericks. However, he showed his support for Doncic, who was blindsided by the management.

“I will always be a Mav for life, but had to come support my guy 77 @luka7doncic in the first game of his new chapter!” the 2011 Finals MVP posted.
