Draft needs for all 32 NFL teams

The 2019 NFL Draft is April 25-27, and all 32 teams have clear positional needs with free agency winding down. Here's a look at the draft needs for each team.

1 of 32

Arizona Cardinals: OL, WR, LB, QB

Arizona Cardinals: OL, WR, LB, QB
Rob Schumacher / USA Today Sports Images

Arizona took Josh Rosen in the first round last year but looks set to take another quarterback with the first overall pick in Kyler Murray. At least according to the team and new head coach Kliff Kingsbury, the position is still a need. Elsewhere, the Cardinals struggled to block anyone last season and still need help there despite three new linemen. Larry Fitzgerald could retire and leave a massive hole at wideout any year now, and the team could use some help at linebacker with the transition to the 3-4 alignment.

Atlanta Falcons: OL, RB, DE, CB

Atlanta Falcons: OL, RB, DE, CB

The Falcons have already addressed their struggling offensive line in free agency but could use more depth, especially at right tackle. Running back becomes a new need after allowing Tevin Coleman to walk and Devonta Freeman's inability to stay healthy recently. The production of Vic Beasley and Takk McKinley has been a disappointment recently, so it wouldn't be a shock to see the team use another first-round pick on an edge rusher. Robert Alford was released after last season, so cornerback depth is also a major need.

Baltimore Ravens: WR, OL, LB, DL

Baltimore has arguably the weakest wide receiving corps entering the draft after losing John Brown and Michael Crabtree. The offense has keepers at tackle, but the interior needs more youth and depth. The defensive losses were many, especially at linebacker with C.J. Mosley, Terrell Suggs and Za'Darius Smith going elsewhere. The defensive line also has 2018 seventh-round pick Zach Sieler currently penciled in as a starter, which could pose a problem.

Buffalo Bills: OL, TE, LB, CB

Buffalo Bills: OL, TE, LB, CB
Rich Barnes / USA Today Sports Images

Despite some big moves in free agency, Buffalo has a hole at right tackle. Tyler Kroft was added to play tight end, but it remains to be seen if he's of starter quality. Even after using a first-round pick on Tremaine Edmunds last year, the Bills could use more linebacker help. The cornerback quality also has some questions, with the team currently relying on oft-injured players Kevin Johnson and E.J. Gaines behind Tre'Davious White.

Carolina Panthers: DE, LB, OG, WR, RB

Kim Klement / USA Today Sports Images

Finding a pass rusher is a highest priority after Julius Peppers' retirement, but the Panthers could also use linebacker help after finally moving on from Thomas Davis. There's an immediate need at left guard, and the team also must address the depth at wideout and running back.

6 of 32

Chicago Bears: RB, LB, DE, CB

Chicago Bears: RB, LB, DE, CB
Mark Konezny / USA Today Sports Images

After moving on from Jordan Howard, Chicago is in the market for an early down back if Mike Davis doesn't workout. A viable backup plan for veteran linebacker Danny Trevathan would be a smart move, as would more defensive line depth. The team addressed the loss of Bryce Callahan by signing Buster Skrine but could still use more depth in the secondary.

7 of 32

Cincinnati Bengals: OL, LB, DB, RB, QB

Cincinnati Bengals: OL, LB, DB, RB, QB
David Kohl / USA Today Sports Images

Cincinnati's offensive line made some strides last season, but its only above-average starters are Billy Price and Cordy Glenn. Linebacker was a huge need last year, and that is still apparent. The Bengals were also gouged by passing teams and could use some depth, despite having some interesting players like Jessie Bates and Clayton Fejedelem. The team's fourth-round pick on Mark Walton last year is now wasted after he was released due to legal trouble, so it'll likely need to add depth at running back again. Some would argue the team should also look at quarterback, with the offense stagnating with Andy Dalton starting under center.

Cleveland Browns: OL, S, MLB

Cleveland Browns: OL, S, MLB
Scott Galvin / USA Today Sports Images

Cleveland has been one of the most active teams this offseason, with huge moves like trades for Odell Beckham Jr. and Olivier Vernon. It's still worrisome that they're relying on Greg Robinson at left tackle, and they could use depth across the line. Safety became a need after the team traded Jabrill Peppers, and middle linebacker isn't locked down with Joe Schobert the current starter.

9 of 32

Dallas Cowboys: DT, LB, S, RB

Dallas Cowboys: DT, LB, S, RB
Tim Heitman / USA Today Sports Images

The loss of David Irving creates a need for an impact defensive tackle, but the Cowboys lack a first-round pick. They also have a need for depth at linebacker, and the free safety spot seems up for grabs, with Xavier Woods the current front-runner. While Ezekiel Elliott has been a durable workhorse at running back in his three seasons, the Cowboys severely lack depth behind him.

10 of 32

Denver Broncos: OL, QB, TE, ILB, S

Denver Broncos: OL, QB, TE, ILB, S
Trevor Ruszkowski / USA Today Sports Images

John Elway has seemingly been in the process of rebuilding the offensive line for years, and it's not quite there yet. Quarterback also remains a need for those convinced Joe Flacco isn't the answer, and how the Broncos use the No. 10 pick will be telling about what they really think. Jeff Heuerman has been serviceable at tight end, but Denver could use improvement at that spot. There have been changes for the team at inside linebacker and safety this offseason, with the Broncos needing more young talent at those spots as well.

Detroit Lions: OL, DL, S, TE

Detroit Lions: OL, DL, S, TE

The right side of the Lions offensive line could use some work as the team transitions to a more balanced offense, and it remains to be seen if they're satisfied at tight end after signing former Steeler Jesse James. The defensive line could use more bodies, even after adding stars Trey Flowers and Damon Harrison. Safety is a high priority after the team cut veteran Glover Quin.

Green Bay Packers: WR, OL, LB,

Some say the Packers have wasted Aaron Rodgers' talents by winning only one Super Bowl during his tenure. The team went heavy late in last year's draft at wideout and could attempt to add more talent this year. Offensive line is also a need given Rodgers' injury scares over the last two seasons. Preston Smith helped the linebacking corps, but it needs more high-end talent.

Houston Texans: OL, RB, DB

Isaiah J. Downing / USA Today Sports Images

The offensive line has been a glaring weakness in recent years, and while the Texans did try to address it last offseason, more help is clearly needed on the left side of the line. Lamar Miller has been inconsistent since joining the team three years ago, and 2017 draftee D'Onta Foreman hasn't addressed the issues due to an Achilles injury. There have been major offseason changes in the secondary, particularly with the additions of Bradley Roby and Tashaun Gipson, but the Texans need to have backup plans.

Indianapolis Colts: WR, RG, MLB, S

Jim Brown / USA Today Sports Images

The Colts were thin at wideout last year behind T.Y. Hilton, and it remains to be seen if Devin Funchess is the answer. Similarly, the team's confidence in right guard Mark Glowinski is unclear. Middle linebacker is an area that needs improvement, and the team could use more safety depth behind Malik Hooker and Clayton Geathers, at the very least.

15 of 32

Jacksonville Jaguars: OL, WR, TE, DB

Jacksonville Jaguars: OL, WR, TE, DB
Douglas DeFelice / USA Today Sports Images

Jacksonville addressed its biggest need by signing Nick Foles but now must give the former Eagles Super Bowl MVP some help. The Jags need an infusion of talent at every other position group on offense, except possibly running back if they are confident Leonard Fournette can stay healthy. The defense remains one of the most talented in the league, but it lost Tashaun Gipson at safety this offseason.

16 of 32

Kansas City Chiefs: DE, DB, LB, WR

Kansas City Chiefs: DE, DB, LB, WR
Jay Biggerstaff / USA Today Sports Images

The Chiefs defense prevented them from winning the AFC championship game. They've already made several drastic moves this offseason to fix it, including moving to the 4-3 alignment and signing Tyrann Mathieu while cutting Justin Houston and Eric Berry. The work isn't done finding a pass rusher or more talent in the secondary, which they're likely to address early in the draft. Linebacker also becomes a need if the team is nervous about Reggie Ragland's transition to the 4-3, and they could add wide receiver insurance given a pending legal investigation involving star wideout Tyreek Hill.

Los Angeles Chargers: RT, DT, LB, QB

Los Angeles Chargers: RT, DT, LB, QB
Jay Biggerstaff / USA Today Sports Images

The Chargers could be looking for a starter-quality player to play right tackle, and their confidence in 2018 third-round pick Justin Jones at defensive tackle will be telling in how early they address that position. Linebacker is a major need across the board, both in terms of depth and Plan B if veteran Thomas Davis doesn't pan out. A young quarterback the team can mold behind Philip Rivers has become a bigger need as Rivers nears age 40, but it remains to be seen if the Chargers will go through with addressing it.

Los Angeles Rams: OL, DB, NT

Los Angeles Rams: OL, DB, NT
Mark J. Rebilas / USA Today Sports Images

The Rams will likely draft a new center early with a clear need in that area, and a long-term replacement for the aged Andrew Whitworth at left tackle is also high on the list. The secondary is excellent on paper right now, but Eric Weddle and Aqib Talib are approaching the end of their careers, while Marcus Peters is a pending free agent. Nose tackle remains a need after Ndamukong Suh departed.

Miami Dolphins: QB, OL, DE, RB

Miami Dolphins: QB, OL, DE, RB
Rich Barnes / USA Today Sports Images

Miami is in rebuild mode. The Dolphins signed Ryan Fitzpatrick as a placeholder at quarterback, and it remains to be seen if they'll draft a long-term replacement this year. The offensive line has issues on the right side, and the team needs a defensive end after trading Robert Quinn. Miami has recent draftees Kenyan Drake and Kalen Ballage at running back, but it's unclear what the new regime thinks of their capabilities.

Minnesota Vikings: OL, DT, LB, S

Brace Hemmelgarn / USA Today Sports Images

Minnesota didn't have much cap space to work with in the offseason and will try to fill its needs via the draft. The Vikings need a lot of help on the interior of the offensive line. On defense, they could use help at all three levels with starting spots up for grabs at defensive tackle, linebacker, and safety. Sheldon Richardson's departure leaves the biggest void up front.

21 of 32

New England Patriots: WR, TE, LB, QB, DB

New England Patriots: WR, TE, LB, QB, DB
Robert Deutsch / USA Today Sports Images

The Patriots find ways to fill holes every year, but Bill Belichick and Co. really have their work cut out for them this time around. The team is thin at wideout, and Rob Gronkowski retired. The Pats also lack a long-term Tom Brady replacement at the moment. Linebacker is an issue beyond Kyle Van Noy, and the secondary is solid but old.

22 of 32

New Orleans Saints: WR, CB, DT

New Orleans Saints: WR, CB, DT
Chuck Cook / USA Today Sports Images

Even after drafting Tre'Quan Smith in the third round last year, New Orleans has a major need at wideout with Ted Ginn nearing the end of his career. Eli Apple was inconsistent at corner after the Saints acquired him last year, so they could address that area as well. Sheldon Rankins could start the year on the PUP list after tearing his Achilles in the playoffs, leaving defensive tackle shaky.

23 of 32

New York Giants: DL, QB, OL, WR, CB

New York Giants: DL, QB, OL, WR, CB
Brad Penner / USA Today Sports Images

The Giants lost arguably two of their three best players this offseason, with safety Landon Collins leaving in free agency and Odell Beckham Jr. traded to Cleveland. There are needs at many important positions, including a pass rusher after Olivier Vernon was traded. Eli Manning has struggled lately, so the team could take his long-term replacement early in the first round. Right tackle remains a need, as does wide receiver depth and cornerbacks capable of playing quickly.

24 of 32

New York Jets: OL, OLB, CB

New York Jets: OL, OLB, CB
Brad Penner / USA Today Sports Images

The Jets used their cap space at running back, wide receiver and offensive line well, but there's still a need to improve at center and right tackle. The team could look for starters at outside linebacker, and cornerback is a major issue behind Trumaine Johnson.

Oakland Raiders: DL, RB, TE, DB, LG

Oakland Raiders: DL, RB, TE, DB, LG
Chuck Cook / USA Today Sports Images

Oakland's pass rush was nothing short of pitiful after trading Khalil Mack last year then recording a total of 13 sacks. Yet the team has done little to address that area. Running back is also a need if the team isn't confident in Isaiah Crowell as its early down back. Defensive back depth looks like a need with several recent draftees struggling to establish themselves, and the Raiders also have a starting spot open at left guard. Following Jared Cook's exodus, Oakland could also take a tight end.

26 of 32

Philadelphia Eagles: LB, RB, OT, DB

Philadelphia Eagles: LB, RB, OT, DB
Bill Streicher / USA Today Sports Images

Phily needs help at linebacker beyond Nigel Bradham, and injuries in the secondary last year also showed that depth is needed in that area. The team acquired Jordan Howard from Chicago recently but could opt for another running back. Left tackle Jason Peters is still playing well, but finding a long-term replacement could be in the Eagles' plans.

27 of 32

Pittsburgh Steelers: CB, ILB, WR, RT,

Pittsburgh Steelers: CB, ILB, WR, RT,
Derick E. Hingle / USA Today Sports Images

The Steelers have lost several key players in the last two years and are coming off a disappointing year. Cornerback was a major problem last year. Steven Nelson's addition helps, but the team could do more. Linebacker has been an issue since Pittsburgh lost Ryan Shazier in 2017. After trading Antonio Brown and Marcus Gilbert, both wide receiver and right tackle are big areas of need.

28 of 32

San Francisco 49ers: WR, OL, LB

San Francisco 49ers: WR, OL, LB
Trevor Ruszkowski / USA Today Sports Images

San Francisco is likely to make an area of strength even stronger with the No. 2 overall draft choice, where defensive end Nick Bosa will likely fall to them. After that point, Kyle Shanahan is still working on the wide receivers, and the interior of the offensive line could also use some work. Kwon Alexander's addition helps the run defense at linebacker, but the 49ers need to find a young player to compete with Malcolm Smith.

29 of 32

Seattle Seahawks: DL, DB, WR, OL

Seattle Seahawks: DL, DB, WR, OL
Kyle Terada / USA Today Sports Images

Seattle is still rebooting its defense and has major needs along the defensive line and secondary. Doug Baldwin has struggled with injuries over the last year, so the team has to think about a replacement. The offensive line made drastic improvements last year but could still use more depth.

30 of 32

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OL, RB, WR, DT, DB

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OL, RB, WR, DT, DB
Trevor Ruszkowski / USA Today Sports Images

Head coach Bruce Arians and Co. have their work cut out for them with the current Bucs roster. The right side of the offensive line has issues, and using a second-round pick on Ronald Jones last year didn't address running back. Wide receiver is also an area where the team could use help after losing DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries. The defense seems likely to move on from Gerald McCoy, creating one more need, and the secondary was one of the weakest in the NFL last season.

31 of 32

Tennessee Titans: DL, WR, TE, OL, LB

Tennessee Titans: DL, WR, TE, OL, LB
Robert Deutsch / USA Today Sports Images

Tennessee signed Cameron Wake but could use more help with the pass rush. While tthe Titans have been a run-heavy team recently, they could use more weapons for Marcus Mariota at both wideout and tight end. The interior of the offensive line needs more depth, and linebacker is also an area of weakness.

32 of 32

Washington Redskins: QB, WR, DE, ILB

Washington Redskins: QB, WR, DE, ILB
Geoff Burke / USA Today Sports Images

Washington acquired Case Keenum with Alex Smith unlikely to play in 2019, but it's unlikely that either quarterback is a long-term answer. Wide receiver has become a dire need after free agent-signing Paul Richardson had an injury-plagued 2018, and the team lost Jamison Crowder in free agency. There's a starting inside linebacker spot up for grabs, and Washington also needs another pass rusher after losing Preston Smith.
