ESPN Cleveland Has A Bold Comment Saying, 'The Steelers Are Frauds... Kenny Pickett Is A Fraud'
Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

It is officially Week 2 of the NFL season, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have a big game upcoming. They face the Cleveland Browns during Monday Night Football in what is usually an exciting matchup between the two AFC North rivals. Historically, the Steelers have won 80 out of the 143 games that the two teams have faced each other. With the Browns' exciting offense and the Steelers' elite defense, it should set up to be a great matchup.

The Steelers Have To Shake Off Their Week 1 Loss

The Steelers have to shake off their Week 1 loss if they want to have a successful season this year. The one touchdown and two interception ratio isn't going to cut it from quarterback Kenny Pickett and not having time in the pocket from the offensive line won't cut it as well. Other than TJ Watt, the defense needs to pick up some of the slack too. Although it was a rough start to the season, there still is a bright future for this team in 2023.

With this rough start, many people have started to write off the Steelers. ESPN Cleveland's Jordan Klimack, who covers all things about the Browns, recently made a bold statement regarding the status of the Steelers. While on ESPN Cleveland's radio show, Klimack would say how he thinks both the Steelers and Kenny Pickett are frauds.

"The Steelers, my one word to describe them is frauds because that's what they are." Klimack then said, "The Steelers are frauds... Kenny Pickett is a fraud. I don't need to hear any more about it. The Browns are going to go in there Monday night and get the win, erase this nonsense that they can't win in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are frauds, the Browns are the real deal."

This comment comes after all of the hype that Pickett gained after his elite performance during the preseason. Although he didn't play great during the first week of the NFL season, neither did any other quarterback in the AFC North. The Cincinnati Bengals superstar quarterback, Joe Burrow only threw for 82 yards with no touchdowns. The Baltimore Ravens' Lamar Jackson threw for 169 yards and an interception against a below-average Houston Texans team and the Browns "great" quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 154 yards, a touchdown and an interception. This means that Pickett is actually the current leader in passing yards for the AFC North despite his rough performance in Week 1.

Although the Steelers' performance was rough in Week 1, the team seems to be in good spirits still and realizes that the potential that they have is still there. Their superstar safety Minkah Fitzpatrick said it best, stating that they are a better team than what they put on display.

"I know that we are a way better team than what we put on display today. We beat ourselves in a lot of areas."

Although they have had a few injuries that they will have to deal with over the next couple of weeks, the youth and potential of this team can take them to the postseason if everyone steps up and does their jobs. To say the Steelers are frauds is just downright laughable at this point since there is still a ton of football left to be played.

The main question about whether or not the Steelers will be contenders in 2023 comes down to the coaching. Head Coach Mike Tomlin and Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada have to look themselves in the mirror and say what can I do better? The Steelers offense with Pickett can be elite if the coaching lets them. Running the same passing concepts over and over again like they have done since Canada got the position as offensive coordinator won't work anymore. Week 1 should serve as a reality check for the entire team and should give them the motivation to prove to everyone that they are not frauds.

So, what do you think, Steeler Nation? Will they get things figured out and become contenders in 2023?
