Detroit Lions waive/injured DaRon Gilbert, sign a new cornerback

The Detroit Lions have a new nickel cornerback in their room, but it came at the cost of injured linebacker DaRon Gilbert. The Detroit Lions announced two more roster moves on Tuesday as they continue to prepare for Saturday’s preseason game with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Lions sign former Broncos' cornerback and waive another young player that had a solid preseason performance

The Detroit Lions made another roster move on Tuesday due to injury. The team announced that signed cornerback Essang Bassey and waived linebacker DaRon Gilbert.  Gilbert's waiving was somewhat expected after Lions' head coach Dan Campbell said DaRon Gilbert got hurt on Sunday and that it could be a long term injury.
