After weeks of flirting with the idea and watching him throw, it looks like the Phillies are coming close to an agreement with Pedro Martinez.
The Philadelphia Daily News is reporting that Pedro is flying to Philadelphia today to take a physical for the team and the deal could be announced before Wednesday.

Jayson Stark of ESPN.com reports that free agent pitcher Pedro Martinez is on the watch from the Phillies. I agree with Macho-Row, he'll fit well. I also agree that he'll probably be at the fourth spot in the starting pitching rotation.
