With the 16th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics may target a backup point guard. This need was put on display in the playoffs, as without Rondo, the team lacked a player that could consistently control the ball. One player that fits the need is German native Dennis Schroeder. Until this year, Schroeder was relatively unknown throughout the international community. But after putting together a remarkable season, Schroeder is slated to be a mid first round pick in this year’s NBA draft. Standing at 6’2, the 19 year old has an average height for an NBA point guard, but his 6’7 wingspan sets him apart. While his measurements are above average, Schroeder’s offensive game is what makes him an interesting prospect. Schroeder is an excellent point guard prospect, as he possesses both great court vision and electric ball handling skills. He can play in both transition and in the half court, but his most intriguing asset is his ability to score the ball from anywhere on the court...

Doc has been saying the same thing for a couple of years, but in the end he usually comes back. “I don’t know that right now,” Rivers said on May 4. “I can’t make that decision now. Rumor: Ray Allen wants back in Boston

Ahh… so the grass isn’t greener in South Beach. Can Ray Allen really come back, after all the stories about his rifts with Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett and Celtics management? Would the fans welcome him back?

Kaboom

I believe, and apparently Danny Ainge does also, that the current Celtics are more than one piece away from contending for a championship.  Their “spare” parts won’t get a starter much less a near star.  Even delving into their future core pieces finds a depleted trade stock with Rondo and Sully coming off surgery.  Without incriminating pictures of some GM or owner, I don’t...

20 Years Ago Tonight

20 years ago tonight.  I know it's not Celtics-related but it's gotta be remembered.  Probably the most amazing non-Celtic playoff game finish I've ever seen.  This moment epitomized Charles Smith's career. It's funny how every member of the Bulls touched the ball during this sequence, even if Stacey King had it ricochet off his face.  At that time it&...
