Dennis Schroeder was apparently told by the Boston Celtics that they would draft him if he were there with the 16th overall pick.
This according to NBADraft.net. Schroeder first appeared on our radar when ESPN's Chad Ford slotted him to the Celtics in the first round. Since NBADraft.net themselves rank Schroder as the 11th best player in the draft, then yes, logic would dictate the Celtics would probably pick him if he slipped to 16.
Is that a promise though? Dennis Schreder apparently never heard any promise from anyone.
Jay King, MassLive:
"Nobody has talked to me," he told the Racine-Journal Times. "I’m just hoping to go in the first round."
Schroeder's agent, Alex Saratsis, also discredited the claims.
"I don’t know where that came from," Saratsis said. "I don’t know anything about that."
Schroeder has been often compared to one Rajon Rondo, so if the Celtics are looking to bring in a back up point guard, as their recent mo...

Celtics guard Avery Bradley is already working on improving his game for the 2013-2014 season. He’s called upon some hometown help. Fellow Tacoma native ,Chris Hyppa, a veteran high school assistant coach, saw Avery emerge as one of the top high school players in the country while Bradley played 3 years at Tacoma’s Bellarmine Prep. Now Hyppa is training Bradley to become...
Jason Terry caught us by surprise by tweeting out a photo of himself in rehab.

The natural reaction to that was…. rehabbing what?
Then someone sent me this Instagram photo:
And THEN… Mark Murphy of the Herald cleared it all up:

A rumor circulating on the web states that the Miami sharpshooter wants to go back to Boston, but is there actually any truth to this?
Mark Murphy had a chance to interview Celtics managing partners Wyc Grousbeck and Steve Pagliuca and they managed to conclude the interview without saying much about anything. We do get the feeling that they have absolute trust in Danny Ainge and his ability to make the right moves for the franchise.
Whether Pierce and Garnett return, both men feel that the core of this team...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Q: Are you at all worried this team is going to fall deep into a rebuilding phase?
GROUSBECK: Wow, that sounds appealing (laughs).
PAGLIUCA: We’ve rebuilt before, and we have a lot of good players on this roster...
With the release of his new memoir, The Friedkin Connection, William Friedkin, the director of The French Connection, The Exorcist, and Blue Chips, among others, recently spoke with Grantland's James Hughes and reveals a treasure trove of interesting anecdotes. The interview is a must-read for Celtics fans. Two quick highlights: Friedkin was once offered a 1/3 ownership stake...
Kings not keeping assistant coaches Alex English, Jim Eyen and Clifford Ray. Bobby Jackson moving to another role.
— Marc J. Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) June 5, 2013
If we were to discuss Danny Ainge's mistakes, I'd put letting Clifford Ray go right at the top. Clifford Ray is one of the best big man coaches in the NBA. Dwight Howard and his dad credit Cliff with Dwight...
A few days ago, CSNNE's Greg Dickerson tweeted about a trade that the Boston Celtics tried to make at this season's trade deadline. Celtics tried to make a deal for millsap and or big Al at the trade deadline. The staff at the CelticsSpa office was filled with excitement. As if a week full of news, our desks covered with CelticsLife articles and tidbits on information around the web wasn´t enough to keep you awake on a Monday night, the staff was thrilled by the prospect of a special program coming right after. Our boss and Celtics brain Aless had promised us a fun podcast...
It's a Game 7 tradition in Miami.
The opponent loses a hard fought seven game series to the Heat, and then bypasses the traditional post-series handshakes and hugs, instead heading straight to the locker room.
Last season it was Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett, this year it was Roy Hibbert and David West. From the Indy Star.
Roy Hibbert and David West – like Boston’s...
I believe, and apparently Danny Ainge does also, that the
current Celtics are more than one piece away from contending for a
championship. Their “spare” parts won’t
get a starter much less a near star.
Even delving into their future core pieces finds a depleted trade stock
with Rondo and Sully coming off surgery.
Without incriminating pictures of some GM or owner, I don’t...

Paul Pierce better not be going anywhere. This rivalry is just getting started.
As LeBron James pursues a second title after a season and playoff run in which he’s further solidified his place atop the game, one of the few questions remaining is whether the king has a true rival in the game. While a few individual stars or lone teams have held their own against James and the Heat...

With Jason Kidd’s retirement earlier this week, Kevin Garnett becomes the active leader in minutes (47,801) and games played (1,323).
At 37, KG isn’t the league’s oldest player. Kurt Thomas (40), Juwan Howard (40), Steve Nash (39), Derek Fisher (38) and Jerry Stackhouse (38) are all clinging to their respective careers. Nash is the only one of the group with a contract for...
