Found June 27, 2012 on Celtics Life:
Last night, a fake Stephen A Smith Twitter account (@stephenasmift, not @stephenasmith) posted that Kevin Garnett would be announcing his retirement today at 1 PM on ESPN: Sad day for the NBA, as the great Kevin Garnett has decided to retire. Press conference scheduled for 1 pm EST tomorrow on ESPN. — Stephen A Smith (@stephenasmifh) June 27, 2012 The tweet was believed by many, and even had NBA players like James Harden, Daniel "Booby" Gibson,  and Jarret Jack talking about it. I hope most Celtics fans checked their sources before believing this, but if not, Kevin Garnett will NOT be announcing his retirement today and even Doc Rivers is optimistic that Kevin will play a couple more years.

Dana Jacobsen's story of abuse is a courageous one

For most people in sports journalism not named Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith or Craig James, "don't become the story" is usually an important goal and one that's often adhered to. That's what's so notable about former ESPN anchor Dana Jacobson's revelation on her blog, in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky story, that she was sexually abused by a babysitter...

Report: Garnett has promised decision by Saturday

They are only 48 hours apart, but July 1, not June 28, is the real D-Day for the Celtics. We face the possibility that two of the linchpins of the past five years, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, will not be back. Hard as it might be to envision a Celtics team without either one, Ainge said recently that he can’t afford to be remotely sentimental in dealing with either player...

Stephen A. Smith: "Good Chance" KG and Ray Allen return to Celtics

The real Stephen A. Smith (as opposed to the imposter from the other night) claims that sources have told him that Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen have a good chance of returning to Boston next season. Most of the previous talk has centered around Ray Allen potentially taking his talents to South Beach to play with the Miami Heat, but Stephen A. thinks otherwise. From ESPN: "...

Kevin Garnett Vital Part of Celtics' Plans as Team Mulls Offseason Strategy

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Kevin Garnett typically looms large at the Celtics' practice facility. A 6-foot-11 future Hall of Famer cannot help but dominate the room, but on Wednesday, Garnett managed to take over the proceedings even though he was nowhere to be found. Garnett, an unrestricted free agent, has yet to make his intentions publicly known as the opening of the free agency period...

Rivers Thinks Garnett Will Come Back

Kevin Garnett has been in contact with Danny Ainge since the Celtics were eliminated in the Eastern Conference finals.

Doc Rivers opts to spend the NBA draft with his son and not the Celtics

For any team in any sport, the draft is the primary period where the public truly sees an organization’s brain-trust come together in one room to set the direction for the unit. To read this feature please click the link below.

Ryan Hollins Heads Into Free Agency Having Found Kindred Spirit in Kevin Garnett With Celtics

Ryan Hollins played 5 1/2 seasons in the NBA and never found a big man he clicked with quite like Kevin Garnett. Hollins showed almost immediate improvement when he landed in Boston on March 23, meshing with Garnett and forming an occasionally impenetrable defensive duo in the post. The 17-year veteran even went to unusual lengths to mentor Hollins, 27, a gesture the younger player...

Boston Celtics’ EuroTrip dates announced

Shortly after Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett first arrived in Boston, the Celtics took a preseason EuroTrip which was said to help them form a tight bond prior to a season that would eventually yield 66 regular-season wins and one NBA title. The Celtics also benefited that season from having three superstars very close to their absolute primes, a supporting cast that included the...

Mickael Pietrus, Kevin Garnett Place Friendly Wager on Euro 2012 Winner

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Mickael Pietrus hails from the island of Guadeloupe. Kevin Garnett is originally from South Carolina. Yet according to Pietrus, for now Garnett might as well shout, "Ich bin ein Berliner!" The former (and possibly future) Celtics teammates made a friendly wager on the presumptive finalists for the UEFA Euro Cup, Pietrus disclosed Wednesday at the Celtics...

NBA Draft needs Atlantic Division

Boston Celtics The Celtics are really in need of a center. Currently the Celtics don’t really have a true center on their roster. During the Celtics playoff run Kevin Garnett mostly played center but he is really a true power forward. Garnett’s future with the Celtics is uncertain. The Celtics could also really use an athletic wing player or a shooting guard if Ray...
