Pierce
In February, the Massachusetts State Lottery had a promotion where Celtics fans could win a chance to play Paul Pierce in a game of H.O.R.S.E. Today, Bleacher Report posted the above video of The Truth taking on several fans, so I assume they were the winners of the promotion. Even though Pierce was the first to get 2 letters during the game, he came through to win with some creative baskets. Thanks to thebigticket from the Shoutbox for sharing the video.

Video: KG & Pierce discuss surpassing NBA all-time greats

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are now 15th and 20th on the all time NBA scoring list. Watching KG's video, the cold case of the missing magazine pictures from barber shops and convenience stores in South Carolina back in the 80's appears to have been solved as well.

RedsArmy presents Fan Friday #42 : “CelticNation St. Cloud”

Adna is a 20-year old Boston Celtics fan from St. Cloud, Minnesota. I’ve been interacting with her on Twitter for roughly a year, and she is all Celtics, all the time. I asked her a few questions, including just what got her into following the Celtics: I became a Celtics fan in 2001 when I was 9 years old. My aunt lived in Boston and she came to visit my family in Minnesota. When...

Memphis 110, Boston 106: Paul Pierce and company fall to Grizzlies despite late-game resurgence

After watching college a lot of college basketball for the last three days this game was filled with well-executed offense, decisive shot takers and makers, and actual dribble penetration. Not to go all NBA elitist on you all, as even a Saturday night bout between two playoff teams did not render half of the energy as the round of 32 yielded in the tournament. But enough of basketball...

Terry: We'll see Heat in the playoffs

Jason Terry is confident that the Celtics will meet the Heat in the playoffs and that there will be "fireworks." He had more to say.

Game #67 Recap: Boston Celtics Tripped Up By New Orleans Hornets, 87-86

NEW ORLEANS -- If at first you don’t succeed, try again. If you fail again? Maybe it’s time for a new approach. Paul Pierce -- playing hero-ball -- missed a potential game-winning shot for the second night in a row as the Boston Celtics fell on the road to the New Orleans Hornets, 87-86 on Wednesday night. Anthony Davis, the future of the New Orleans franchise, tipped in a missed...

Celtics Road Woes Continue with 110-106 Loss to the Grizzlies

Just a few random thoughts for tonight's post game wrap up.  First, KG's injury is troubling.  He didn't seem to injure the foot in the game but they said he was walking gingerly afterwards.   It is being described as a foot injury rather than an ankle injury. And the fact that they are going to take an MRI makes it even more worrisome.    I remember back in that...

Recap: Celtics’ road woes continue

It looked like maybe the Celtics would somewhat salvage this road trip tonight when they started the game on a 12-2 run. Unfortunately, it was not to be. An undermanned and visibly frustrated C’s team was no match for the Grizzlies. Memphis dominated this game on all levels tonight: rebounding, scoring in the paint, second-chance points, you get the picture. Boston goes 0-3 on...

Underrated Stat of the Night - Grizzlies 3/23

Tonight's 110-106 loss to the Grizzlies was filled with ups and downs. The Celtics got off to nice start, but slipped in the second and third quarters. Their fourth quarter contained a rally that didn't start until about the 6:00 mark. Had it started earlier, they definitely would've won. But it didn't. What's done is done. Tonight's USOTN easily goes to...

Loss to Heat Provides Blueprint to Rediscovering Form

The Boston Celtics-Miami Heat matchup had it all. One team came in boasting a historical winning streak, while the other continued to defy the odds with every passing week. One team sat atop the Eastern Conference, while the other was busy fighting and clawing its way up the standings. One team featured arguably the best player in the NBA right now, while the other featured a former...

Celtics-Grizzlies Live: Paul Pierce, Celts Try to Halt Skid, But Will Have to Grind for Win in Memphis

8 a.m. ET: Jason Terry is not the sympathetic type. When he saw teammate Courtney Lee writhing in pain on the floor late in Friday’s loss in Dallas, Terry’s thought was a bit harsh. “Get your [butt] up,” Terry thought to himself, as he told reporters. Lee did not get up, at least not under his own power, and his status for Saturday’s game in Memphis is unclear. If Lee cannot...

Boston Celtics fumble away 13 point lead, lose to New Orleans Hornets 87-86

What a mess. After a strong first half the Celtics fell apart in the third quarter, getting outscored 22-12 and fumbling away a 10 point halftime lead. The Celtics were able to rally, but Anthony Davis scored off a tip-in with 0.3 seconds remaining and the Celtics weren’t able to get off a shot before the final buzzer sounded. Honestly that game was disgusting so lets try to get...

Celtics Suffer Painful Loss In New Orleans

Hornets 87, Celtics 86 The first game of the Celtics road trip ended in defeat when Anthony Davis tipped in an Eric Gordon miss to give the Hornets (23-46) a one point victory on Wednesday night. It was a muddled contest in which both sides squandered leads, but the C’s took control with a 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter. Paul Pierce was huge down the stretch, scoring seven...
