With a July 22 purse bid set, it seems likely that WBC heavyweight champion “Dr. Iron Fist” Vitali Klitschko will scrap mandatory challenger Bermane Stiverne later this summer. Using a powerful left hook, the 34-year-old Stiverne (22-1-1, 20 KOs) badly bloodied Chris Arreola and earned a unanimous decision triumph over the American on April 27. Comparatively, the 41-year-old Klitschko (45-2, 41 KOs) last exited the squared circle in September with a fourth round TKO victory against “Diamond Boy” Manuel Charr.
