Found June 20, 2012 on Rumors and Rants:
On Wednesday the WBO completed its review of Timothy Bradley’s controversial split-decision win over Manny Pacquiao from June 9. A panel of five international judges re-watched the fight and scored it. The results showed what we all already knew: Pacquiao won the fight. On the night in question, judges Duane Ford and C.J. Ross both had Bradley winning 115-113, while Jerry Roth scored it 115-113 for Pacquiao. The WBO’s panel of judges – who are all said to be accomplished with world title experience – disagreed with that June 9 ruling. The judges, whose names were not disclosed, all gave the fight to Pacquiao and their scores were: 118-110, 117-111, 117-111, 116-112, 115-113. HBO’s broadcasters and virtually every member of the media at ringside had Pacquiao clearly winning the fight and the crowd roundly booed the decision. I scored the fight 117-111 for Pacquiao but thought I was being kind to Bradley by giving him three rounds. WBO president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel s...

  • Never mind the WBO. Anyone that watched the fight and has even limited scoring knowledge, knows you have to Take the Championship from the holder.Forty years of watching fights live and on TV,this was the biggest rip off i have seen! And i have seen some good ones.CompUBox had it a landslide,Ringside the same.I watched it 2 times and came up with the same thing they said.Boxing needs to go back to 1 belt per division,This would end allot of corruption.
  • Of course Manny lost!!!.....All the MORE marketing for the re-match which had been ALREADY scheduled!!.....Hmmmmmm.

If nothing else, the WBO review of Manny Pacquiao's loss to Timothy Bradley means we can all feel better about our sanity and can trust our own eyes.Actually, it really does mean nothing else. All five WBO judges who reviewed fight gave it to Manny Pacquiao, but decision won’t be overturned

Boxing’s leadership and phony organizations remain as pointless as ever. The WBO, which gave Timothy Bradley a shot at Manny Pacquiao’s welterweight champion belt on June 9 in Las Vegas, conducted a review of the controversial decision. The Pacquiao-Bradley fix continues as a rematch looms

I still contend that Manny Pacquiao was in on the fix. The 33 year old fighter only has a few good years left, and without the Floyd Mayweather bout in his future he had nothing to sell. His last few fights have been dogs. Interesting is dropping, quickly. His  fight against Timothy Bradley didn’t sell [...]

Reform lacks punch but worth a shot

Believe me, it pains me in the gizzard to speak negatively of any stab at boxing reform, especially one as near and dear to my heart as the establishment of a national commission. But the Professional Boxing Amendments Act of 2012 is not the immediate answer to boxing's long-standing need for sanity. Co-sponsored by Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Senate Majority Leader Harry...
