(Sewell is, coincidentally, number 22 in the black Ridgeway jersey)

There are always going to be those guys who sit around and talk about the “what ifs” and the “what could have beens” of when they played high school sports. But really there’s not much they can do about it—or so I thought.

Apparently, a 22-year-old man in Memphis, Tenn., posed as a student at Ridgeway High School so he could play basketball.

According to a report from Dime Magazine, 6-foot-6 McKinzie Sewell got his wife to sign papers saying she was his guardian, and she helped him forge phony transcripts.

Sewell is a former gang member, according to a report WREG in Memphis. Sewell also has a GED from the state of Louisiana and it seems like his sole purpose of returning to high school was to play basketball.

Now, the Ridgeway basketball team has been ruled ineligible for the state playoffs, despite being just one game away. Even worse, it’s because a player who played marginal minutes off the bench lied about his age.

  • A grown man playing against young boys???I hope this clown is prosecuted for what he has done to the young boys on that team. He stole their season. He stole their reputation. He stole their hard work.

I am surprised the school did not figure this out sooner.

22 years old and in high school. Was he an honor roll student or just another dumb ass who can dribble to the left?

Roddy White speaks out against preseason games

Preseason has not been kind to the Atlanta Falcons. The current stars of Hard Knocks have been less than impressive in exhibition action, eking past the Dolphins and losing in a blowout to the Texans. More concerning than the box score is the season-ending injury to starting left tackle Sam Baker, who suffered a torn patellar tendon in Saturday night’s 32-7 defeat. Asked to find...

Antone Smith: Jadeveon Clowney is 'just a guy'

Last night, Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney laid a huge hit on Atlanta Falcons running back Antone Smith. Clowney was in the backfield just as Matt Ryan was able to hand off the ball to Smith. Clowney followed up his big hit on Smith with a sack of Ryan on the next play. Following last night’s game, Smith spoke to 610 Sports in Houston and he’s not overly impressed...

Jimmy Graham retires the goalpost dunk celebration

After scoring two touchdowns on Friday night and following them up with two goalpost dunks, which inevitably brought flags, New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham is now prepared to completely halt what has been a trademark of his for sometime now.  Graham had this to say to the New Orleans Time-Picayune on Sunday. For four years and however many touchdowns, I always dunked it...

Manchester United fans are sick and tired of seeing the Glazers (yes the same Glazers who own the Tampa Bay Bucs) pocket most of the profits that the club is making while leaving the team to suffer.
