The Los Angeles Dodgers have been without a pair of key contributors, CF Matt Kemp and LHP Ted Lilly, for a while, and though both are getting closer to rejoining the team there is still no specific timetable for their respective returns. Kemp has been on the disabled list since May 31 with a left hamstring strain, the second one he has suffered this season. He will accompany the Dodgers to Oakland on their road trip this week but no date has been set for his return. Kemp was originally estimated to miss four weeks. "If you start putting a timetable on it, these guys are goal-oriented. It's almost like it pushes the guy to do something before his body is ready to do it," said manager Don Mattingly. "I think it's better not to put those artificial deadlines on these guys. Let's find out when they're healthy and ready to go, and let's go." Lilly has been on the disabled list since May 24 with left shoulder inflammation. He still hasn't...

Dodgers Agree To Terms With Onelkis Garcia, 18 Others Signed

The Dodgers front office is working diligently to get all of their 40 draft picks signed before the July 13 deadline. The Dodgers officially have 19 out of their 40 picks signed, so with a little less than a month a way, the Dodgers have just a tidbit shy of half of all their picks signed. The Daily News is reporting that the Dodgers have signed Onelkis Garcia to a contract...

Dealing Dodgers: Harang and Capuano

Aaron Harang and Chris Capuano are having big-time bounce-back seasons for the Dodgers, rewarding management for investing in each pitcher for more than just one season. They have also rewarded fantasy owners quick enough to snag them off of the wire or draft them as late round sleepers. Can their surprise seasons continue? Here's what I wrote about the two in an article for...

Dodgers' Gordon has been hot hitter since benching

One month ago, Dee Gordon was struggling mightily. The Dodgers shortstop was in a 2-for-31 slump that had dropped his batting average all the way to .200. The leadoff man had an on-base percentage of just .239 after going 0-for-5 against the Cardinals on May 18. Manager Don Mattingly benched Gordon after that game, limiting Gordon to just one pinch-hit appearance over the next...

Dodgers have interest in Cubs' RHPs Matt Garza and Ryan Dempster

I wasn't intending to write a post about the Dodgers' interest in Ryan Dempster, but it goes hand-in-hand with the Dodgers' reported interest in Matt Garza. Nathan Eovaldi has filled in admirably in the absence of Ted Lilly. There's no timetable for his return. Everyone behind Clayton Kershaw is no better than a middle-of-the-rotation starting pitcher...

This Week With The LA Dodgers

By SBRForum.com The Los Angeles Dodgers began last week with a five-game lead in the NL West, and they'll go into this week with a five-game lead, after splitting six interleague home games with the Angels and White Sox, treading water against the MLB betting odds in the process. LA will try to maintain that advantage and help out its financial backers when it hits the...

Which Cubs Player Would Be a Good Fit on the Red Sox?

As the Red Sox tangle with the Cubs in the Friendly Confines this weekend, it's only natural for fans to take a look at the other team and size up the roster, wondering who they might want to be on Boston's roster. While the Cubs don't exactly have anybody on the level of, say, a Josh Hamilton or a Matt Kemp, there are several appealing players wearing a Chicago uniform...
