Final in the series was Royals 4 and White Sox 2. Josh Phegley committed his first professional error so I am hoping that he got that out of his system. Hector had a good outing but the offence was not able to lend any support. There were some really bright spots along the way but I really think that the looming trade deadline is really bothering the boys. Paul Konerko was quoted as basically saying We KNOW we are SH*T right now. The looming trade deadline is not helping.
OK, enough of my venting and frustrations all. The Cleveland Indians come to The Cell for a four game series. John Danks and Jake Peavy are the opening pitchers for games one and two of the series.
See you on the field
BEST OF MAXIM
Peavy awaits to see if or where he will be traded by the July 31 trade deadline.
There are only three days until the trade deadline and the Chicago White Sox have yet to deal anyone besides Matt Thornton. There are massive amounts of rumors surrounding stating pitcher Jake Peavy right now, with rumors of the Atlanta Braves being heavily involved in negotiations as well as the Oakland...
Chicago White Sox starter Jake Peavy is probably going to get traded in the next three days. that is, if you believe Peavy. And honestly, there are a lot of fanbases out there that want nothing to do with Peavy, damning his contract and injury history. But would Peavy be a huge upgrade for a team looking for starting pitching, or would he be a waste of resources?
2012 was the...
Boy, Chris Sale is good. It's just too bad that American League's fifth best ERA and strikeouts, third best WHIP, and second best WAR isn't good enough for our oh-so beloved 2013 White Sox and, tonight, Alex Rios.
We know I'm usually one of the last optimists standing, but after this loss, the White Sox' 61st on the season, I can't help to be quite...
Per multiple reports, the White Sox have elected to scratch Jake Peavy from tonight’s start in Cleveland and will instead start Andre Rienzo.
Rienzo has been dominant in AAA recently, even tossing a no-hitter. He will also make history tonight, as he’ll be the first Brazilian player to pitch in the MLB.
However, that’s hardly the story with this piece of news....
The phrase "You can't tell the players without a scorecard" might hold especially true for the White Sox when they are next playing at U.S. Cellular Field against the Yankees on Aug. 5.
Those changes actually could come as soon as Monday with the non-waiver Trade Deadline arriving Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT. Then again the White Sox might very well feature the same basic...
This serves as the 11th post in my third season of a series called “Down on the Farm” that chronicles visits to various minor league parks throughout the 2013 campaign. (All prior editions can be accessed here.)
If you’re going to watch Independent league baseball in person, a 10:30 a.m. weekday start and temperatures hovering around 70 degrees with a breeze is hard to...
In a move to shore up an inconsistent bullpen for an expected playoff run, the Tampa Bay Rays have acquired right-handed reliever Jesse Crain from the Chicago White Sox for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Crain, who had been named to the 2013 American League All-Star Team on the strength of a 0.74 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 46 strikeouts in 36.1 innings, hit the disabled...
It's been an excruciating season for the Chicago White Sox, with the team buried in last place in the American League Central division and with players like Jake Peavy and Alex Rios now on the trading block. On Monday night, things went from bad to worse when Jason Giambi's walk-off homerun off Ramon Troncoso gave the Cleveland Indians a 3-2 victory over the South Siders...
The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired Chicago White Sox reliever Jesse Crain for cash considerations or a player to be named later. Brandon Gomes has been moved to the 60-day DL to accommodate the move. Reports began to circulate this morning about Crain being moved , with Tamp Bay being one of the suitors.
White Sox GM Rick Hahn announced the trade and issued the following statement...
One of the biggest names left on the trade market may not be going anywhere after all.
The Chicago White Sox are now telling teams that they will not trade Jake Peavy and will instead attempt to rebuild around the veteran right-hander, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney. Peavy has been mentioned in trade rumors involving a number of teams, including the Red Sox, Orioles and Cardinals...
It could be a ploy to drum up more interest in the 32 year old right-hander, but the Chicago White Sox are now saying that they will keep Jake Peavy, and “build around him.”
The White Sox are telling other teams they’re going to keep Peavy and build around him.

Peavy has been rumored to be heading to several teams, including...
Back On Sox Radar?According to Jeff Passan of YAHOO! Sports, the Red Sox are "very much in" the running to get White Sox starter Jake Peavy. This is directly contrary to most reports over the weekend. Passan claims that—while still not the favorites to land Peavy—Boston is "motivated" and has the best package of prospects to offer Chicago. Peavy has a 4.28...
Jesse Crain of the White Sox is today's third reliever to get dealt. Chicago is sending Crain go the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for the always nebulous "future considerations", depending on the health of Crain's shoulder. Crain hasn't pitched since June 29th due to a strained muscle in his left shoulder, and he's been on the DL since July 2nd for the White...
Over the weekend, professional rumor starters, a.k.a. reporters, said that the A’s had emerged as the front runners in a field that includes other postseason hopefuls, the Red Sox, Orioles, Dodgers and Cardinals, to land Jake Peavy, one of the top starting pitchers on this year’s trade market.
It makes sense for the A’s—adding a veteran pitcher to the rotation, that is....
First of all, I do apologize to you on where we are today. I looked wrong and thought we were at home when actually we are in Cleveland, Ohio. It is a four game series with the Indians. John Danks is on the mound today, Jake Peavy is scheduled for tomorrow provided he has not been traded. Sources are telling that it could be issues of paying out his current contract...
