Found September 29, 2013 on Dodgers Rumors:
A striking blow to the Los Angeles Dodgers who are already playing without outfielder Andre Ethier, have now added that Matt Kemp will not appear during the post season. Kemp apparently re-aggravated his nagging ankle injury and will be sidelined.  The tough news is as Andre Ethier attempts to return from his own ankle injury. He has been getting rehab in Arizona for the last several days. The injury doesn’t doom the Dodgers, who went 42-8 without Kemp in the line-up. They’ve expected him out for the season several times during the year, so they can still win without him. What it does create is a massive hole in the lineup, if not supported by Ethier. The outfielder duty would move to light-hitting Skip Skumacher or the not often played Scott Van Slyke. There word is Ethier may make the roster but only come off the bench to pinch hit. Ethier is a stellar defensive player which has made up for him times of struggle at the plate. Time will tell what direction the 25 man roster will go on, skipper Don Mattingly knows of all, it is running out. A quick & dirty rebuttal of idiotic Matt Kemp arguments

Matt Kemp is out for the 2013 postseason due to an ankle injury, which was a bit of a body blow for the Dodgers, who were hoping to get Kemp back for the playoffs after he posted an .870 OPS since coming off the DL. “The MRI scan indicated swelling in one of the major weight-bearing bones of the ankle. Since that is an area that can be vulnerable with impact and injury, we have...

Dodgers' Matt Kemp (ankle) out of postseason

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Dodgers won't have center fielder Matt Kemp for the postseason because of swelling in a bone in his left ankle. Los Angeles said Sunday that Kemp's season is over. Matt Kemp Joins The Ranks Of Terrible Athlete Commercials

Welp, as if Matt Kemp’s injury-riddled season of underperformance wasn’t enough, he’s decided to grace our televisions and computer screens with this terrible Lexus commercial. Let’s not be unfair, though, Kemp has had a lot of time this season sitting around on the disabled list. The commercial itself looks forced and hastily made. It’s as if the marketing guys at Lexus...

My 2013 Dodgers' postseason roster: No Andre Ethier because he can't run

Many folks have already predicted their Dodgers' postseason roster, so my being lazy -- I mean, waiting until this week -- may have played in my favor. Matt Kemp is out for the playoffs, which sucks. Andre Ethier looks like he'll be limited to pinch-hitting duties in the National League Division Series, if he's even on the roster. At least the pitching appears to...

Matt Kemp will be shut down for the rest of the season. — Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) September 29, 2013 Then, this series of tweets followed... Matt Kemp’s sprained left ankle is still an issue

Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp has batted .314 with an .870 OPS in 39 plate appearances since returning from his severe left ankle sprain on September 16. But that ankle injury still lingers. Kemp was scratched from the Dodgers’ starting lineup on Saturday night against the Rockies with what is being termed an ankle flareup and manager Don Mattingly acknowledged in his postgame...

Dodgers' Matt Kemp is shut down for playoffs

When the Dodgers open the playoffs in Atlanta on Thursday center fielder Matt Kemp will be on crutches. If they reach the World Series he'll be limited to waving a towel in the dugout. Matt Kemp Done For 2013 Season

And just like that, a contender has lost one of its main ingredients.  The piece of accoutrement in this situation is personified by Matt Kemp, who can no longer be found on the Los Angeles Dodgers’ egg salad sandwich. Injured for most of the year for various reasons – including 52 games over the last 2 months for this particular ankle injury – Matt Kemp could have provided...

Dodgers undecided on Andre Ethier's NLDS role

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers didn't make a decision Tuesday about Andre Ethier's availability for the playoffs, and they probably won't until Thursday morning, when they must submit their 25-man roster to the National League office. But it appears likely that Ethier will make the team as a pinch-hitter and perhaps even as a center fielder if his aching left ankle improves...

Dodgers' Ethier could pinch hit in playoffs

LOS ANGELES The Dodgers are still days away from finalizing their roster for the first round of the National League playoffs, but it's looking less likely that outfielder Andre Ethier will be on it. Although Ethier is still working out in Arizona and won't rejoin the team until Tuesday for its workout at Dodger Stadium, manager Don Mattingly indicated the final decision...

Rangers Rumors: Matt Kemp could be trade option for Rangers

The Rangers have a need at their number three spot in their lineup. Nelson Cruz is scheduled to hit free agency and he is not guaranteed to be coming back.
