It was no surprise to me that the Toronto Blue Jays lost two out three games against the Boston Red Sox.  In fact, the Red Sox clinched the American League East Division with a 6-3 win in the first game. Mark DeRosa went two for four at the plate for the Jays Jay’s starting pitcher, Esmil Rogers gave up three hits, two earned runs, five walks, and struck out two batters. Five walks?  No wonder manager, John Gibbons pulled Rogers after 2.1 innings.  This bad outing won’t help Rogers as he trys to land a spot in next year’s rotation. The Jays won the second game 4-2.  Brett Lawrie (my favorite player) went two for four at the plate. Mark Buehrle gave up five hits, an earned run, no walks, and struck out five batters.  Not  bad. There was an incident in the eighth inning of this game. Munenori Kawasaki splay showed a rare display of anger on Saturday after being called out at first base. Fan Favorite, Munenori Kawasaki lost his cool after being thrown out at first base.  Kawasaki was ejected for arguing the call.  He also tossed his helmet during the incident. This is rare for Kawasaki to do something as this.  Kawasaki is usually a happy, go lucky guy. Even Kawasaki’s teammates were caught off guard.  Apparently, this is the first time in Kawasaki’s Major League career that he’s been thrown out of a game. The Red Sox won the rubber match 5-2. Despite the loss, R.A. Dickey had, probably his best outing of the season.  Dickey went eight innings, gave up six hits, five earned runs, a walk, and struck out 11 batters. Rookie outfielder, Kevin Pillar went two for three and collected two RBIs. I have some bad news for Colby Rasmus fans. Rasmus’s season is officially over after being struck in the face with an errant throw during first inning warm ups on Friday night. The Jays have a day off today.  Toronto kicks off a three game series against the Baltimore Orioles tomorrow night. Toronto wrap up their 2013 season with a three game series against the Tampa Bay Rays this coming weekend.
