I understand the concern that some folks have when it comes to the way Yasiel Puig plays. His no-holds-barred kind of style is going to cause more than a few injuries. But it is also what is going to make him a great baseball player that fans are going to love to watch play (when he's healthy of course). Not too many guys are able to make this kind of play. Here's hoping to many more years of him doing the same (in the NLDS, NLCS, and--dare I say it--the World Series?!?!?!). Loading...

Dodgers release 2013 NLCS roster: Paco, Capuano out; Volquez, Marmol in

The Dodgers released their roster for the 2013 NLCS just moments ago, and … uh … I have no idea what they just did. Suffice to say that my NLCS roster prediction was completely wrong, as they left off two left-handers against a team that can’t hit them. Starting Pitchers Clayton Kershaw Zack Greinke Hyun Jin Ryu Ricky Nolasco Relief Pitchers Kenley Jansen Brian Wilson J.P....

Dodgers’ Hanley Ramirez thinks rib injury may be serious

Hanley Ramirez was not in the Game Two lineup last.  After being hit by a 95 mph fastball in Game One, Ramirez has been battling pain in his rib cage that has limited his ability to swing.  Ramirez already underwent X-rays that came back negative, but he’s concerned about what a CT scan will reveal. Hanley Ramirez rib X-rays negative, bad bruise, but he suspects something is...

Three things: Dodgers' bats sputtering, down 0-2 in NLCS

There will be a lot of complaining and second-guessing now that the Dodgers have lost the first two games of the National League Championship Series, but nothing should obscure this singular fact: The Dodgers aren't hitting. In two games, they've scored two runs. In two games, they've left 17 runners on base. In two games, they're 1 for 16 with runners in scoring...

Ramirez rib injury ongoing concern for Dodgers

Star shortstop Hanley Ramirez was a late lineup scratch for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 of the NL championship series because of sore ribs that hindered his swing, and his availability was in doubt for Game 3. Manager Don Mattingly learned X-rays were negative during Saturday's 1-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals put them down 2-0 in the best-of-seven series. ''...

The Cesar Puello Way

Kevin Kernan put together an interesting piece earlier in the week in the New York Post on Dodger baseball phenom Yasiel Puig. In his first sentence, he speculates that Puig is ready for October baseball, but wonders whether baseball is ready for Puig. He builds his piece around what he calls the ‘Puig Philosophy,’ an aggressive, hustling brand of baseball that has endured...

NLCS preview: Breaking down the Cardinals vs. Dodgers

ST. LOUIS -- The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the way to becoming the best team money can buy. The Cardinals have built a model franchise through the draft as well as the free-agent market. But as different as their roads have been, they have reached the same destination: the National League Championship Series. And they arrive about as evenly matched on paper as two teams can be...

Dodgers Rumors: LA expected to be most aggressive team pursuing David Price

The Los Angeles Dodgers have one of the best top-of-the-rotations in the game of baseball. They have Cy Young favorite Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke. It's hard to believe that the Dodgers' rotation could get any better, but it's possible and it seems like they will definitely try to make it better this offseason. The team that is expected to pursue a David Price...

Wacha, Cards nip Dodgers for 2-0 lead

Rookie Michael Wacha pitched into the seventh inning with zero margin for error and the St. Louis Cardinals silenced the Los Angeles Dodgers for the second straight day, winning 1-0 Saturday for a 2-0 lead in the NL championship series. The Cardinals managed only two hits off Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers, but Jon Jay's sacrifice fly set up by A.J. Ellis' passed ball in...

Three Ways The Cardinals Can Beat The Dodgers

Game 1 of the NLCS begins Friday. The Cardinals and The Dodgers are set to square off. Yet around the internet today, people seem to be favoring The Dodgers in this series. Maybe it is the way they disposed of The Braves, a very strong team. Maybe it’s the hype around Puig and Ramirez. Maybe it’s the extra rest from playing less games. At best this is an even series. And here...

Dodgers' balanced attack could spoil Cardinals' run

National League Championship Series Preview Los Angeles Dodgers versus St. Louis Cardinals Both teams handled their business in the division series though the Dodgers had a much easier time against the Atlanta Braves.
