Say what you want about UFC president Dana White (pictured), and the Culinary Union certainly has, but you better include generous and caring in your analysis. White, who lived in Boston for many years, will be making a trip back to his old stomping grounds to open up his ears, heart and wallet to several of the victims from Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings. “The Boston thing has obviously affected me pretty strongly because I lived there,” White shared following Saturday’s UFC on FOX 7 post-fight press conference. “I know people there, and the story that really gets me is the mother that was crossing the finish line and the 8-year-old that was killed and the 6-year-old that lost her leg by a couple of [expletive] cowards.” White has been following the news very closely since brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev ignited two bombs near the finish line of the marathon, killing three innocent civilians and wounding nearly 200 others. Like most Americans, White was irate over the latest terrorist attack. The UFC’s brash boss has chosen his words carefully when discussing the tragic incident in public, but now that the authorities have killed Tamerlan and have Dzhokhar in custody, it’s time to focus on healing and recovering. “I have a hard time talking about this in public because if I really do talk about it, I’m going to come off like a psycho,” White said. “I’ve really limited talking about it, I’m going to Boston on Saturday. “After [UFC 159], I’m jumping on a plane and flying to Boston and I’m actually going to go visit some people that were affected by this while I’m there.” White’s plans for Beantown are in the preliminary stages, but one thing’s for certain, he’ll be bringing his checkbook along with him. “I’m going to go to Boston and write some checks,” White added. “I don’t even know how I’m going to do it or what I’m going to do, but I’m going. I want to go. I’m going next weekend.”
