UFC President Dana White joined members of the media Thursday night to discuss several topics heading into UFC 156. One of the prominent topics discussed was the likelihood of Rashad Evans/Anderson Silva middleweight title fight. The former light-heavyweight champion recently revealed that he would be very interested in facing the long-time middleweight kingpin, even going so far as to confidently state that he could beat him.
“I would consider Rashad [Evans],” White confirmed at the pre-fight media scrum, “If Rashad won on Saturday night and wanted to go down to 185 [pounds] we would consider that.”
Whilst the UFC president refused to make any information given official, he did hint at the UFC either giving Chris Weidman the next title shot or Rashad Evans if he choses to move down to middleweight.
“A lot of people think that Chris Weidman is the no.1 contender right now but if Rashad made a move down from 205lbs to 185lbs it would be tough to say that he is not the no.1 contender...
