Henderson lands an inside leg kick. Extended feeling out period from both fighters. Machida continues to fake strikes just to see how Henderson will react. He kicks Henderson in the midsection. Henderson gets the Brazilian to the ground and has over three minutes to do work. Machida doing a good job of avoiding damage. Machida scrambles free. Big inside leg kick by Machida. Henderson eats a front kick to the face. Machida lands another head kick. Another close stanza to score. This could be controversial. 5thRound scored it: Henderson, 10-9, but lost the fight, 29-28 Official Result: Lyoto Machida Defeated Dan Henderson via Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) The pro-Henderson crowd boos the verdict.
