UFC Matt Mitrione

Matt Mitrione (Pictured) bounces from one Brit to another. Mitrione was slotted to battle Rob Broughton at “UFC on FX: Browne vs. Bigfoot,” but Broughton was just forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.

“Meathead” now gets a promotion and meets Phil DeFries at UFC 155.

Octagon officials confirmed the swap Friday morning.

Mitrione is looking to bounce back from the first loss of his professional career. “The Ultimate Fighter 10″ contestant dropped a lopsided unanimous decision defeat to Cheick Kongo at UFC 137.

DeFries, meanwhile, posted an impressive submission victory over Oli Thompson earlier this month at “UFC on FOX 4.” The 26-year-old owns a 9-1 record.

UFC 155 takes place December 29th in Las Vegas, Nevada. Either MGM Grand Garden Arena or Mandalay Bay Events Center will serve as host.

Here are the athletes expected to perform this New Year’s Eve weekend:

Joe Lauzon vs. Gray Maynard

Chael Sonnen vs. Forrest Griffin
