Aside from Carlos Condit's "Headrush" that opened the 3rd frame, the performance Georges put together tonight inside of the Bell Centre was a dominant one.

St. Pierre showed no signs of wear in tear following his 18-month layoff, even though he would admit to ring rust in his post fight victory interview. GSP opened up a mammoth cut on Condit in the opening stanza with an elbow from top position. Being the killer that he is, this cut didn't slow down Condit one bit, the champions takedowns on the other hand - those did.

The champion landed 7 out of 8 of his takedowns where he had to stay mindful of Condit's relentless attacks from the bottom. Condit actually outstruck Georges 190-172, but was almost double up when it came to significant strikes where GSP ended the contest with the advantage at 71-36.

Considering what was at stake and the extended layoff, this could go down as the most impressive complete performances of St. Pierre's legendary career. He stated post-fight that the knee is fine. So what about the Silva vs. St. Pierre superfight? Well, it's still a possibility, but Georges stated that he will be keeping his options open. Leave that to Dana White to answer at the post-fight presser.

Final Result: Georges St. Pierre (C) (23-2) defeats Carlos Condit (IC) (28-6) via UD (49-46, 50-45 x 2) to unify the UFC welterweight titles stats via - fightmetric
