The California State Athletic Commission has medically suspended every athlete who competed in “UFC on FOX: Henderson vs. Melendez” this past Saturday. The majority of the 24-fighter roster was issued a precautionary seven-day ban. However, Daniel Cormier (pictured), Chad Mendes, Jorge Masvidal and Ramsey Nijem each could be riding the pine for up to six months. Although, the foursome can return to action sooner with a doctor’s note. HP Pavilion in San Jose hosted last weekend’s show. Regardless, suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact for head trauma Joseph Benavidez: Suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact for broken tooth and laceration to right eyebrow unless cleared by physician Darren Uyenoyama: Suspended 45 days with, 30 days no contact Jorge Masvidal: Suspended 180 days, with 180 days no contact unless cleared by physician for right thumb fracture.
