The California State Athletic Commission has medically suspended every athlete who competed in “UFC on FOX: Henderson vs. Melendez” this past Saturday. The majority of the 24-fighter roster was issued a precautionary seven-day ban. However, Daniel Cormier (pictured), Chad Mendes, Jorge Masvidal and Ramsey Nijem each could be riding the pine for up to six months. Although, the foursome can return to action sooner with a doctor’s note. HP Pavilion in San Jose hosted last weekend’s show. Here is the event’s official IR list: Benson Henderson: Seven-day suspension Gilbert Melendez: Seven-day suspension Daniel Cormier: Suspended 180 days, with 180 days no contact unless cleared by physician for swollen right middle finger Frank Mir: Seven-day suspension Josh Thomson: Seven-day suspension Nate Diaz: Suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact unless cleared by physician for facial lacerations to nose and cheek. Otherwise, suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact Matt Brown: Suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact unless cleared by physician for laceration to right eyebrow Chad Mendes: Suspended 180 days, with 180 days no contact unless cleared by physician for possible right index finger fracture Darren Elkins: Suspended 45 days, with 30 days no contact Francis Carmont: Seven-day suspension Lorenz Larkin: Seven-day suspension Myles Jury: Suspended 60 days, with 60 days no contact unless cleared by physician for laceration to right eyebrow Ramsey Nijem: Suspended 180 days, with 180 days no contact unless cleared by physician.
