The UFC continues to ride the wave of its fox deal with another free card on Fuel TV (US) and Sportsnet (Canada).
Diego Sanchez (3.75) vs. Jake Ellenburger (1.23)
The main event features a solid welterweight bout which could have title implications. Ellenburger seems to be on the way to a title shot and a victory over Sanchez could get him there. Ellenburger is coming off a great win over Jake Sheilds, whom he KO’ed in 53 seconds. Ellenburger is a strong wrestling with good hands. His wins over Sean Pierson, Carlos Rocha, John Howard and Mike Pyle help his resume. Sanchez has two straight wins over Martin Kampmann and Paulo Thiago. Sanchez hasn’t fought in almost a year and that could play into it. The odds on this fight are staggering to me. Sanchez is a 3.75 underdog (he was 3.2 on Sunday). I don’t see Sanchez finishing Ellenburger but if his cardio is where it normally is, I think he can take the decision.
Prediction: Diego Sanchez via decision
